Stars Hardcover – Picture Book, October 4, 2011

Stars has been a favorite last bedtime story for my daughter for about a year. It has a good mix of whimsy and calm. She is usually out by the time I reach the last page.

Purchased after my son picked it at the library. It was such a beautiful little book that we wanted a copy for him to keep. He (toddler) looks through it very frequently. Cute with a great message. Highly recommend!

I purchased this book for several purposes - to give to my 4 year old great nephews, to keep for own library (I am a child development specialist) and to give to my 20 year old nephew Ian. This book is beautiful, relatable, inspirational and comforting. Two messages that I found valuable to young children are:*Even when things are dark there is light that helps us to see, and*Sometimes we can't see the light, but it is always there.These messages are also why I bought this for Ian. He has suffered a broken neck due to a diving accident in July of this year. He is currently paralyzed from the chest down. But I say "currently" because we all feel that this will change. He has just entered into rehab. I know that there will be some dark days ahead, but wanted him to be able to reach for the star in his pocket when those discouraging days hit. We all need "Stars" to help us through tough times. This will be a great book for my great nephew, who dearly loves his Uncle Ian, as it will be for Ian and the rest of the grown-ups in our family. Thank you for a wonderful book.

I ordered this book for a star themed baby shower. I was delighted at the beautiful book, illustrations, and story. It is a book to be read aloud to a child, not a board book for a baby.

I intend to ask every one of my child's teachers to sign a book and then give it as a graduation gift, and this is the winner. The literal meaning of the words paint pictures of childhood moments and describe the seasons; the message is - you can (usually) find stars everywhere. What makes the book even more beautiful is that the examples and illustrations indicate a deeper meaning to the story without entirely defining that meaning. With simple text the story uses stars as symbols for different things and it allows the reader to draw conclusions about the important things in life and realize individual values. Hopefully, my future graduate will find many truths (stars) in this book, like I do every time I read it. "stars that come with the night... You need some dark to see them."

There is wonder in these pages. I gave each of the small children in my life this book at Christmas for its message and its beautiful art. All of the parents have told me that this book has become an absolute favorite of the receiver and their siblings, that it is requested over and over again. You will not be disappointed.

The rhymes don’t flow and the story doesn’t make a lot of sense. The pictures are nice. Overall fine but it’s not our favorite and I wouldn’t buy it for a friend.

This book is one of my favorite children’s books. The illustrations are just incredible. But I strongly recommend buying the hardcover version, full size, and not this classic board book size for kids. The illustrations are so much better on the full size versions!!!

I love this book. I buy it for anyone I know that’s having a baby. It has such a lovely message and the pictures are so sweet.
