Nice but not flat enough
This is a very nice, sturdy journal. The paper is good. With a fountain pen medium nib there is at times (not always) bleeding. The things I like the least is that it does not open as flat as I would like. It may be that it is new but I find I have to hold the pages open/down to write using the expected width. I would probably buy this again but wish the binding was adjusted to flatter opening.Update - the more I use this the less enjoyable. It may be the ink, the pressure with which I write or the fact that I use a medium nib fountain pen - but I see too much smudging and bleeding. My partner has a moleskin too and uses the same type of pen and nib but does not experience this - which makes me wonder how much disparity there is between moleskin journals and paper quality. Switching to a fine nib pen for a bit to see if that makes a difference. Probably will do more research to find a journal more suited to the use of a fountain pen and with consistent paper quality.

No consistency whatsover
By now, anyone who's had more than a passing interest in the world of premium notebooks knows better than to trust Moleskine to offer anything more than average quality, but sometimes I still find myself willing to take the gamble. For once in a blue moon, this gamble actually payed off when I purchased a sapphire blue Moleskine back in May. I was actually surprised by how nicely the paper held up against most of what I threw at it - including marker. Gel pens seemed to dryalmost instantly, leaving no opportunity for smudging, and the overall construction felt very sturdy. However, I wasn't so lucky when I purchased its successor, this time in slate grey. It was immediately obvious by the binding and the cover itself that this new notebook wasn't in the same league as my previous Moleskine. Compared to the previous one, which (surprisingly) had minimal ghosting and almost zero bleedthrough, the paper in this one has a really unpleasant, almost waxy or clammy feeling to it, and EVERYTHING bleeds through. I can't write anything without smudging the ink everywhere, and even in the places where the ink hasn't bled, the ghosting is intolerable. Note the difference between the colors of the paper and the weird way the marker interacts with the newer notebook (bottom). Both Moleskine, purchased about a month apart. After one fantastic success, I had almost regained faith in this brand, but they're just too hit-or-miss to justify spending the kind of money they still insist on demanding. This is a dollar-store quality notebook stamped with the Moleskine logo. There are many notebooks that perform far better and cost far less.

I love these books.
I love these books. These are perfect for recording daily activities - i.e. great journals. I use mine to track medical issues with my MS and diabetes. They are small enough to be portable and large enough to be useful.

Had to drop stars because of price
I love these notebooks. I wanted to buy many as gifts. However, the color notebook that I wanted - gray - was almost tripled!

Not worth the money- it’s small
Much smaller than I expected. Bought this to have as a journal, but it’s hard to write in because it’s so small and my hand can’t rest on the pages. It would be good for small notes, but for journaling and writing pages at a time, not worth it. definitely not worth the price when you can get notebooks like this for free at trade shows.
