I bought this aluminum duct tape to install a new over-the-range microwave oven, replacing one that had died after twenty years (probably due to a lightning strike or other power surge). The new microwave oven's instructions recommended 200 °F tape. While some cloth duct tape claims that range (barely), the ordinary tape that I had to replace seemed dried out and brittle.Of all the installation chores, getting the ducting right turned out to be the hardest. I had to remove the the microwave oven partly and re-install it, plus hole-saw the duct hole a little bigger, to get the microwave's top outlet and duct to line up so the baffle could move freely. After all that, I wanted to be sure as little exhaust air would leak as possible.The adhesive on this product is strong, and I had to waste some tape learning how to hold and manage it to get it where I wanted it. But once I learned, I could make a smooth and solid bond and even smooth some small irregularities after placement. To seal corners surely, I had to use and cut several small pieces of tape in some places.I liked the tape's solidity and obvious temperature resistance. I couldn't see all of the surfaces it was bonding to, so the tenacious adhesive gave me some comfort. The downside: I paid a lot for highly specialized tape for peace of mind. My heirs will probably inherit most of it.

I should mention that I've never bought any Foil tape before. This is the only one I've purchased, but I'm very happy with it. I noticed it was slightly more expensive than some of the other rolls, but you got way more and it was thicker.I just bought a house and noticed a lot of leakage in the basement hvac system. I went through and taped up every hole and every crevice that I found. Of course I don't know if it will last for years to come, but it did stick quite well without needing much cleaning. In spots that were really dusty it didn't stick that well so I had to clean them first. There was WAY more than enough tape to touch up everywhere in the basement's system as well as around the vents and the entire furnace area as well. I still have leftovers for touch up if I need it!Overall quite happy with my purchase!

This tape is a great value for the money especially when you consider more expensive tapes on the market don't hold as well and you end up having to replace the tape. This one adheres quickly and easily. It applies to odd angles easily as well. My teenagers and my 9 year old grandson used this tape for projects with ease and no help needed. I love that the peel away backing makes it a snap to measure the size you need for your project and simply cut what you need. I peeled just a bit of the backing and began applying it and peeled and smoothed as I went. No creases and no bubbles. It holds in extreme cold and heat.
