Mark Gungor: Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage - DVD

refreshing and so true
I almost didn't get this set because of someone's negative review about how theologically unsound he thought Pastor Mark was, but I'm glad I got it anyways. I don't know what theological stance that reviewer is coming from, but I found the theological suggestions in the video to be totally fine. Yes, God's love is unconditional, but to benefit from many promises and the wonderful relationship He offers us, we must comply with His conditions. I don't see anything un-Biblical about that. I am a very conservative Christian, but I found these videos to be fine from a Biblical perspective. He may come across as too "funny" for some people's liking who think these topics should be dealt with in a serious manner. But, I don't imagine those people would get a series entitled, "Laugh Your Way...." Anyways, I just encourage people to check out these videos for themselves. I also think those who are not religious would find these videos to be helpful and non-threatening.I also noticed a negative review highlighting that Pastor Mark tries to sell you his products through the seminar. The videos are an actual seminar he conducted. There are mentions of his books, etc. But what the reviewer did not mention is that if you check out the Laugh your Way website, you will see that Pastor Mark and his team do not charge churches a dime for hosting these seminars. They pay their own travel, etc. The seminars are FREE. As a business owner, I am not offended at all that at this FREE seminar he is promoting his materials that you can OPTIONALLY buy if you want.Anyways, we laughed a lot during the video series. These videos were very light-hearted, but I found that what Pastor Mark said about marriage was so true and so helpful. It has spurred interesting discussion between me and my husband as we recall how the video lessons apply to our marriage. The ending is quite touching. The take away from this series is the following:1. Yes, men and women have some silly things about them that cause them to act the way they do. This is how men and women can be. They also have different needs that must be respected and appreciated by the other spouse.2. Instead of trying to change the other person, let's understand why they do what they do and try to meet them half way and or find a better way to harness who they are and who you are to meet each other's needs.I hope others will give this series a chance. You don't have to agree with all of it to get benefit. At the very least, it's a great discussion stimulator on the differences between men and women.

an awesome dvd!! you don't want to miss this!!
I bought the "tale of 2 brains" dvd first then realised I should have bought this dvd set instead.. which I did.. I then watched it with my wife and is was wonderful.. practical, down to earth and very forthright information from someone who has had his eyes opened to the wonders 7 delights of marriage. I couldn't have realised the passion & drive behind this.. it was fabulous and very inspiring.. We have entered a covenant relationship and are responsible to be the best for our partner and not - as in the way of the world - seeking to please ourselves. Mark Gungor is not only funny and entertaining but very driven to let us know of his revelation/vision of what married life should be.. without it being a heavy session.. it is heavy enough and our thinking has got clouded.. It was eyeopening.. and an excellent resource for married couples. My wife & I are getting so much out of this.. want a perfect answer?.. I'm not sure it's out there.. this challenges us to do what's right & be the right person without enforcing change on anybody else.. what a refreshing view.. I have to change me to be the best for my love.. and she desires the same.. we both are endeavouring to give our 100%.. no 50/50 or compromise.. .. just being the best I can be.. with no condemnation.. marriage isn't easy.. but it is the best.. and this set.. definately helps us realise that truth.. a no holds barred delightful facts of married life and the responsibilities of being a part of it. Got misunderstandings?.. then you need this set of dvds.. I wholeheartedly recommend it!!

Best marriage gift ever!
Whether your marriage is a 1 or a 10, this DVD set can make it better! We've been teaching a periodic, eight-week premarital class for over 15 years, and Mark Gungor's Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage is hands-down the best! Mark uses humor to take the edge off of sensitive subjects, and doesn't shy away from anything. This set is a must for anyone seeking to improve their marriage!Note that if you are easily offended, this is probably not the DVD for you. Mark Gungor can be irreverent, but we do not believe he oversteps the bounds of Christian decency. My in-laws have been involved in ministry for decades, and they could thought this set pushed the envelope too far. We, on the other hand, believe that very frank discussions on marriage - including sexuality - are woefully missing in the Church, and found Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage to fill this void perfectly.I cannot recommend this DVD set highly enough. It is the go-to gift we give to those we feel have "hit a wall" in their marriages. You will not regret this purchase!

Understanding-Invaluable
The understanding you can gain from these teaching videos is priceless. Helped me to relax and enjoy; instead of trying to change situations, I was changed. Powerful tool. Lots of laughter with the truth!

Very amusing ....
If you can cope with the very American humour, this is a funny and perceptive view of marriage and our different ideas about how the other half should behave, and why, perhaps, he or she does not react in the way we expect. Worth watching.

Excellent for adults and teens
Don’t think your teens are too young for this - they need to hear it the sooner the better!
