Great wood vise for the price
I recessed it into the vise blocks, worked out well Novice note; No instructions or mounting hardware come with it.

Overall good vise
had some mixed experiences with it. Pros: Good Performance: Overall, the vise performs well and does the job effectively. It's a solid addition to my woodworking bench. Usability: Once installed, the vise is very usable and provides a strong hold on workpieces. I made the vise jaws out of beech wood, which enhances its functionality and appearance. Cons: Installation Challenges: Installing the vise was a bit of a struggle. A template for the installation would have made the process much easier. It took me a while, but I managed to install it. Despite the difficulty, I'm happy with the result. The handle: Constantly falls off unless you glue it. The screws are not holding it properly, which is frustrating. However, it’s an easy fix if you glue the handle in place. I did that with 5 min epoxy. Alignment Issues: I noticed a little movement, and the vise isn't perfectly flush with the table top. This could be due to the precision of the holes I drilled or the vise itself. It’s something to keep in mind during installation. Additional Thoughts: I'm currently using this vise as a front vise, and I am considering getting another one to install as a tail vise for my custom workbench. For those installing this vise, double-check your measurements and the precision of your drilled holes to ensure a better fit. Some reviews mentioned that the part is not at a perfect 90-degree angle, and this is true. However, I believe this is intentional, as it seems to help the screws clamp the vise better to the table. Despite the challenges during installation and minor alignment issues, the Vise is a good product that performs well once set up. It provides strong clamping power and is a valuable addition to any woodworking bench. For the price, it offers good value and functionality. If you're prepared for a bit of a challenging installation process, this vise is worth considering.

Perfect budget bench vise!
Really pleased with this. Have moved into a new house with a dedicated workshop. Needed a bench and a vice and did not want to spend too much money. The bench was from a YouTube video (Building a Workbench With Storage in Less Than One Hour - Only One Plywood Sheet and Some 2x4's) The vice I choose was this one. Beautiful smooth operation, only downside was no instructions on how to mount. But then I thought how could they provide instructions everybody's bench is going to be different? Please see photos as to how I mounted.

Nice vice
Strong and sturdy vice. Had to glue the ends on the handle because they kept falling off. Very strong vice and turns smooth

I struggled with making this work
What a pain in the ass to set up. 3 star only because it comes with a handle and is of descent strength.

sloppy machining for this vise
I found the clearances between the 2 guide bars and locating holes to be excessive. This allowed a lot of side to side and up / down motion of the vise face when not clamped to a workpiece. This is commonly called racking. In addition the mounting surface of the guide casting (with the rod holes) to the face was not close to being 90 deg - probably off by 5 degrees or more. This means the guide casting would not mount flush against the bench side vise jaw. I imagine that once a piece was clamped in the vise, the back and front jaw face parallelism would be better, but unlikely to be perfect. I returned the vise before I tried to correct any of these things. I even thought briefly about re-drilling the guide holes and installing bushings to help the alignment, but decided it wasn’t worth the effort. I did not expect the vise to be high precision, but was surprised by how sloppy the machining was. I’m sure it would be durable, and if someone is not too concerned about the vise jaw being very loose prior to clamping, then probably be OK. However keeping the top of the vise (when extended) level with a bench top is probably impossible, because of the slop in the machining. I can’t imagine a cabinet shop being satisfied with this one. After returning it, I bought a similar style, but much higher quality vise for more than twice the cost. It had quick screw release for fast adjustment, 1/2 inch guide bars with precision holes and almost no racking. very satisfied with the new one. You get what you pay for.

Looks like a vise, functions like a vise.
It’s a pretty simple de(vise), and it gets the job done. Everything fits together and moves smoothly. A pro might need something a little more heavy duty, but for a hobbyist like me, it’s a great deal.

Front Vise - Defective
Upon opening package and reviewing assembly the following were noted: 1. Jaw opening is racked - 1/4" difference left to right 2. Center tightening screw hole is off center causing racked condition. Returning product to vendor. Guess you get what you pay for - looked good in photos but not in real life.

This is a great vice for a small bench. It was exactly as ordered and arrived on time. I took about 30 minutes to prepare and mount. I made the face boards from maple. It mounted exactly as expected. Very happy and would recommend this vice.

Love the vice, but I wish it came with a pre-cut template. I bought a second one.

Bought this a number of months ago. Got around to installing it on a little portable table top bench I’ve built. Unfortunately the guide rods are not square to the vise jaws. It is out of square by nearly 1/4”. The guide rods are also not parallel with each other, splayed, so the vise binds when more than halfway open. Unfortunate that such a simple front vise is so poorly made. I Should have checked it right when I received months ago so I could return it, but assumed it would be fine because it’s such a simple thing. The handle is nice, and the tapping of the acme is very good, but this isn’t usable with the guide rods so squirrely.
