I have finally managed to get this assembled and done. The instructions that come with it is a little difficult to understand and follow but after taking time and a lot of patience it all came together. It's a decent replica of the Fighter Plane used in the Top Gun Movie.

Nothing much like mavricks. You have to buy several shades of grey, you could easily halve the amount needed. The 128 compass grey is darker than the 145 Matt medium grey which is the reverse to how it looks on the diagram. Also you have the triangular canards sticking out of this one as shown in the photos which mavricks plane did not feature in the film. Personally I'd say don't bother with the paints 147, 128 and 127. Also the white paint is just for the sir brake and tips of the missiles so probably save yourself some money doing without that. I'm personally going to paint over most of it just freestyle from watching the movie. If you get hung up on movie accuracy then don't follow the paint guide as it's wrong. If you don't care about movie accuracy then still don't follow the paint guide as it will cost you more buying paints that are not needed.

どこのブランドの模型も、F-14は古い金型なのでしょうが、御多分に洩れず古い金型の凸モールドです。デカールは良く出来ているのですが、肝心の垂直尾翼のVF-1マークは鷲の向きが同一方向を向いている物が2枚となっていて、垂直尾翼に貼ると、片側は鷲が後ろ向きになります。DVDで確認はしていませんが、これで良いのか？

１９７０年代に開発されたとみられるキットです。モールドや細かいパーツに古さが目立ちますが、主翼および胴体前縁のグローブベーンが連動して動くなど、楽しい仕掛けもあります。仮組してみたところ、パーツの合いも思ったほど悪くなく、翼の後縁が分厚いのを除けば外形も良好で、ハセガワのキットのような精密さを求めるのでなければ楽しく組み上げられそうです。　問題は価格。私は4,948円（送料込み）で購入しましたが、今や送料を入れて１万２千円近くというべらぼうな値段に吊り上がっています。マーベリック機のデカールがどうしても欲しい、あるいはエアフィックス製品に格別の愛着がある方以外は、無理に購入する必要はないかも。キット自体の総合的な出来は、ハセガワの旧キットの方がはるかに上ですし、価格も１０分の１です。
