good tinned copper wire.i measured breadboard wires (for older board), and the 22 AWG that arrived measures same as what i was tryign to replace.wire is tinned copper (tin coated copper). this makes it good for bread boards / does not damage board comes in/out of slots without breaking or bending as much: which bare copper will do. also it gives the wire higher conductive/heat ratings (this is sought in experiment wire; ie if mistaken less likely to burn red hot, and also wish to use thinner wire and all same wire for most things hot or not). the ad says "tin copper" you might think "an alloy" (welding wire is tin copper - dont want that!). it's tinned copper just like the competing products are.NOTE: measure your breadboard wire or BUY one and check which AWG is needed. wire is high quality so ratings aren't critical but breadboards really only work well with "close AWG" and can be damaged or get stuck using "various other wire"arrived early and (free shipping with order) in NIB new condition
