Does not work during the day. I misunderstood how this timer is designed to work. I bought it to operate my waterfall DURING THE DAY. You can not set the dial to 10 hours and have it work for 10 hours and then shut off. It will turn on at nightfall and then operate for 10 hours - while we are all sleeping and not enjoying the waterfall and then during the day it's off. Oops, my bad. I'm keeping it though to use this winter for my xmas lights because it's very straightforward and worked great. Back to the drawing board!

Good quality work's not too bad. This was kind of disappointing about the timer. Sometimes it does not as accurate as I would like it to be. But other than that, it's a pretty good item. Recommend it

I love how simple this is. No digital menus to scroll through or a bunch of little levers to move. Just set how long you want to power your device after dusk from 2 to 10 hours or till morning light. It doesn't have a nice defined click between settings, but it's easy enough to tell what setting it's on.In low light, like at dusk it takes about 7 to 8 seconds to turn on. With sufficient light it takes the same time to turn off. When plugged in the red power light glows. When on and providing power the green on light glows also. It does seem to need quite a bit of light to turn off, so make sure the sensor has a clear line of sight to the sun.It's nice that it has two plug receptors. It makes it more convenient when I have two sets of Christmas light strands going in different directions. It does have a hook to hang on a screw.I have had it out on many stormy rain days (semi-protected) and it has worked flawlessly. It states on the box that's it waterproof, but I personally wouldn't put it out where it's exposed to direct weather.Note: If the power goes out while it's on, it will restart the time you have set when the power is restored. For example, if you have set for 4 hours and the power goes out sometime during that 4 hours, when the power comes back on it will come back on for 4 hours or till dawn, whichever comes first. Once dawn comes and turns it off, it will go back to working normally by itself. This makes it easy than timers based only on time which you would have to manually reset if the power goes out to get it back in sync.This replaced my push button remote to turn the lights on and off. Now I don't have to remember to turn them on and off and it works when I'm not home also, nice. This unit does not have a remote, but it doesn't need one, since it's automated with the sun.

I would have given it 5 stars but when it arrived I plugged it into the outdoor lights that I wanted Dusk to Dawn. I first moved the dial to On, but the lights didn't come on. I moved the dial to 4 Hrs, lights came on, but according to the instructions that setting was to provide power at dusk and shut off after 4 hours.I turned the dial to Dusk and it worked that night and beyond.The steps I took above made me think the product was defective.

It worked really well for about a year. I thought it was broken but….. it was operator error. It has worked for over a year so far. ( as long as no one messes with the power hahaha)

I got this for my Christmas lights this year and it worked great! I love the different timer options it provides. I used the option to have them on from Sunset to Sunrise and it worked great. I also tried the option where they turned in for 4 hours every night and then the lights would turn off. Very straight forward and easy to use.

100% recommend this product. Goes on and off as intended (dusk/dawn), has held well under the rain and one of those things that are easy to take for granted for how well it does its job.

This product worked really well until...it stopped. Was using it to turn patio lights on for a couple of hours in the evening. Worked great but after about 6 months it quit.
