Nice and interesting read
This is my first book from this author Sonia Sahijwani. A simple, short subtle, sleek, type of book with a collection of 6 different and individualistic stories portraying pros and cons of judiciary system in India.Author herself is the lead protagonist in each of this 6 short stories by the name SIA. A very unique collection of unique, absorbing refreshing and practical stories which can relate to most of the readers and general masses.I am not a stroyteller, as i believe it diminishes an author's hard efforts to mesmerize the book reader audiences with his/her writing style. As you start reading the book you will get immersed as if you are a part of the stories, such is the lucid and relatable writing style of this author.I found the stories inspiring, mind-blowing and extrememly unpredictable. None of the 6 stories had anything similar rather a very distinctive one making you to ask for more. Being a debut writing book by author Sonia, i think the book, the writing pattern and the style is at par with most of the settled book writers that i have come across. This book is intended for all those who have not heard anything about the legal profession nor have had a chance to visit the court along with all those who have experienced this legal profession as a lawyer or as a public. A different style of book which is definitey for all genre of readers. Much recommended to all !!

More enjoyable by people in law profession
Have you ever been to court or do you have any idea about the legal proceedings ??Yours Legally is a collection of six short stories written by author Sonia Sahijwani. This was a great book being debut work by the author.First of all, I would like to take a moment to appreciate the beauty and aptness of the cover of this book as well as the title. The title is self-sufficient to give an insight into what this book is all about to the readers and the black cover with a hint of white is like icing on the cake. This is the story of a young girl Sia who just completed her graduation in Law. She does not have any family background in this profession and hence sets out on her journey to explore new opportunities and to learn from new experiences that this field of Law has to offer. The protagonist is really confident and determined with her approach towards her career and shares a few of her experiences from this journey. There are stories of property cases and family separation in court along with the experience of Sia when she visited jail for the first time (of course not for wrong reasons). These stories will feel personal to you as they are not at all exaggerated and neither does the author has used any decorative language to make these stories look fancy. They are true and raw in their own way. That is what I really loved about this book because we all have already seen so many court scenes in movies or series and no one can disagree with the fact that they are literally overdramatized and are no way closer to reality. My favorite story from this book is where the author has presented the experience of Sia when she got the opportunity to visit jail for some of her professional work. I was amused by the description of real jail. It was not as bad as it is presented in Bollywood movies. It was clean and well organized with all the basic amenities available for the prisoners. This is a perfect book for youngsters who are willing to join this profession or people who are already into it. This book does not talk about all the intricacies and details of the profession but will provide an outline of how things work in this industry. Every other person who wants to know a little bit about Law and court proceedings should definitely check this book out.I would recommend everyone to read this book for once, it's a short but refreshing read.

A great read
I loved the minimalistic book cover and with a slim book length which is about 100-115 pages. Generally a book compilation of short stories has an independent story each. But this book is different as all the six stories herein have one common protagonist Sia and a common thread which binds them all -' Law'. The stories revolve around 6 elements :The Case, The Court, The Counsel, The Complainant, The Confinement & The Criminal. As I proceeded with the book, I could relate so much with Sia's sentiments through her college experiences and her various fun- loving, exciting internship moments, her resistance of not taking 9-5 job and rather living life on her own terms, her satisfaction of peacefully working in a NGO with a rather low salary. I'm sure every reader would relate their younger version with Sia. The book takes you through a lot technical terms of law but the language is lucid and easily understandable with a tinge of Hinglish involved. I personally loved the 3rd short story which is an excerpt based on true events from the life of author. The last short story was very captivating as it has heartfelt detailed experiences of Sia with prisoners. It throws light on Indian law firms and surely gives you a hint about a lawyer's profession and lifestyle. Do share this book with your friends pursuing 'Law' , it provides warmth of the profession and great insights which might me useful for them. Even if you're not from law background, this book is worth giving a read as it takes you through a lawyer's journey and gives you information and knowledge about Indian law firms and connects you with a great series of beautiful, realistic, poignant, unconventional and gripping short stories with humongous life lessons.
