Timex Men's Expedition Gallatin Watch

Love this watch. Use it as both an everyday watch for work and on weekends and the watch I continue to wear when I’m out exercise walking. I’ve had mine for 3 1/2 years of continuous use and have had no problems with it. It keeps time accurately. The Indiglo light is cool and allows the watch to be read in the dark. This is just my personal preference but I didn’t like the strap it came with. It was perfectly functional but for ME it was clunky, bulky and ugly. I replaced it with a quality brown leather band and I think it looks really nice. I don’t buy watches to show off; I just want simplicity, form and function. I bought this watch to replace an earlier Timex Expedition watch I had for more than 18 years. I bought this originally as just my exercise and knockaround watch and had a Seiko with a Roman dial which I had for more than 20 years which I wore for the 9 - 5 grind. Sadly I lost it one day while on my daily bus commute in the winter. The leather band must have broken and the watch apparently fell off my wrist. That was about 2 years ago and when I started wearing this Timex as my daily watch. I’m planning to buy another Seiko with a Roman dial though because Seikos are great watches too.

It is a simple watch that does the job well. The strap is comfortable, the numbers are easy to read, the Indiglo at night is very well lit. It looks like a military watch, or durable should. Very pleased with the purchase. There is maybe one bad thing...the second's hand does tick a bit loud if you are in a quiet environment, if you are outdoors or in the office, you will not hear it, but you will in an empty room with no sound.

The watch arrived in good time. The condition of the box (the box the watch was packed in, NOT the shipping box) was a little beat up, but the watch itself was in perfect physical condition.Pros:Very light and stylish for my taste. Can wear it constantly without it becoming obtrusive.NATO strap is comfortable and breathable.Easy to set.Indigo light renders it useful in darkness.Cons:Hands are most definitely NOT luminous.Date window is so small as to make it useless without some kind of magnification.

Timex always delivers! Nice watch for a very good price. Bought it for my nephew, it's his first watch and he loves it. The blue letters and second hand add to the good looks; the size of the dial is slightly above average but it won't look bad on thin wrists. Of course water resistance is not top tier on this category of price, but I wasn't looking for a water resistant watch anyway. In short, really happy with the purchase, perfect watch for a young student.

This is a great, basic, rugged watch. However, the face is hard to read because the hands blend into the background. It would benefit from the hands being the accent color.

Got the watch because I was looking for a daily use watch without breaking the bank, and I love the color scheme. First thing first, I swapped it to a Ritche NATO strap immediately after taking it out of the packaging. The strap it comes with is definitely cheap and mine had sharp edges, but what do you expect for $40? Even with cautious use I managed to scratch the crystal on the first day. Nothing major, and you can only see it at certain angles but it's there (I was planning on swapping to a sapphire crystal if I liked the watch anyway).Secondly, (there's a pun there) the movement is loud, which I honestly don't mind but it's loud enough to hear while sitting in a running car with no radio or ac on, just to give you an idea. Also, it loses about a second a day which is a little more than I would prefer.The face is easy to read quickly, and nicely laid out. The Indiglo back lighting is super nice and not overpowering so it's easy to read at night without hurting your night vision. That being said, there is no luminescent features, but again, $40 watch.All in all, not terrible for $30-40, and will continue to live on my wrist for a few more months as an EDC beater watch. I was just hoping the movement was a little more precise so I could justify swapping a sapphire crystal in.

Band is comfortable, fit is good and overall it is an ok watch.The face contrast is poor, hands tend to blend in to the background and are hard read the time.The numbers don't seem to be as brilliant white as in the photo, again making it difficult to read in low light (yes the indeglow works fine).Lastly it has a LOUD second hand tick, I would say louder than normal. I can hear it across a small bedroom. And when on my arm drives me nuts (tick, tick, tick).I reached out to Timex to see if the contrast and ticking was "normal" and if it could be resolved somehow and they immediately responded that they will check with the design team and get back to me - so far 4 weeks later no response and now it is too late to return ...All in all it is comfortable, but not functional or enjoyable.

Good fit, decent weight . Everyone keeps saying it's too light and this and that. It's dang near perfect . I prefer not to wear a brick on my arm. The NATO strap looks great on this watch. If you order the blue/black you get the NATO strap on it, which is a big plus cause I'm not too fond of Velcro straps . The size is perfect for a man arm. Im a big guy and it doesn't get lost on my arm . All in all I'm super pleased with this purchase . Give it a go, you will be glad you did.

Die Uhr entspricht absolut dem, was ich von der Timex-Serie TW4B erwartet habe: Eine top Uhr mit leichtem Kunststoffgehäuse, sie ist robust, hat ein tolles Design mit schablonenartigen Ziffern und besitzt eine perfekte Ablesbarkeit in der Nacht dank Indiglo-Nightlight. Der Sekundenzeiger trifft exakt die Indizes - das sieht selbst bei wesentlich höherpreisigen Quartzuhren oft anders aus. Die Uhr wurde innerhalb von 10 Tagen aus den USA (Illinois) nach Deutschland geliefert. Ich bin absolut zufrieden.

This is a great watch - it is light and the Indiglo function works really well. Date/time are easy to set and the watch face is easy to read.

Good watch, easy to read and not to heavy.

Me gustó por el diseño y los colores. Excelente para nadar y con muy buena iluminación para la noche pero solo se ilumina mientras sostienes presionado el botón. Correa muy resistente, mucho uso en alberca y no se decolora; en lo personal no me gustó que fuera doble y le corté una parte para que quedara sencilla.

Good little watch for the price. Indigo is very nice and it hacks. Only thing I didn't like is the second hand doesn't line up properly which is kind of annoying for an ocd person like me. Would recommend as a good every day watch for someone that wants a cheap alternative.
