OXO makes excellent products both in design and quality and this meat tenderizer is no exception. Quality materials, light weight and easily gets the job done.

I absolutely LOVE this gadget, it tenderizes meat like nobody's business! and the flat side is great for smacking garlic to separate the cloves too! or of course to flatten a boneless chicken breast. Also, when you hand wash this, I saw some reviewers had issue with getting the tenderizing part clean, I have the OXO palm brush, the one you fill with dish soap, that brush gets right in there and cleans it up sparkling, it gets into every single crevice of the tenderizer so you have no worries, those nylon bristles are fantastic for that, there will be no meat left on your gadget if you get that brush! I have 3 of them and love them so much.

I like everything about this mallet. You can tenderize or just flatten depending on which side of the head that you use. This replaces a wooden one. The head went flying off while I was pounding away. I don't care that it doesn't go the dishwasher because I hand wash my pots and pans. It makes me feel like I can cook more recipes for chicken which call a lot for a pounded breast. The benefit is that the breast becomes large enough for two servings. That means I can eat leftovers the next night and not go to the trouble of cooking again. I'm 71 and live with my dog. I like to keep things simple. The mallet fits in my drawer which is already overflowing. Nice size. Good and heavy but I'm careful not to swing it too hard. I'm not worried about the head flying off. I just don't want to ruin counter top.

I had an OXO meat tenderizer for about five years. It did a great Job. Unfortunately, I put it in my dishwasher and it was ruined. I don’t understand why these aren’t made dishwasher safe. My new one arrived today and it does work well. It’s a bit lighter in weight and the grip is not as wide. It’s disappointing that it doesn’t appear to be as well made as my old one. At least this one is clearly imprinted “Hand Wash Only”. I won’t make that mistake again. I’ve attached photos of my old one vs the new one on a scale showing the weight of each one and another one where it indicates Hand Wash Only.

Been using this for a month or so, very hand to have around. Tenderizes meat well, and really useful to get the get the shell off garlic cloves really easily. Bought when it was on sale, and due to good reviews, and it's solid. Hits well even with being lightweight, and has a comfy grip.

THE MAIN THING I LIKE ABUT THIS POUNDER IS IT'S COMPACT. IT HAS AN ANGLE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE POUNDER HEAD AND DOESN'T WEIGH A HUNDRED POUNDS! WHY DO MANUFACTERES THINK WE NEED MEAT POUNDER TWO FEET LONG AND WEIGH A TON! ALL THOSE HEAVY ONES DO IS TEAR UP THE MEAT YOU'RE TRYING TO TENDERIZE. I JUST GOT THIS TODAY. IT CAME ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE I NEEDED TO TENDERIZE SOME PORK LOIN FOR SUPPER.THIS IS GOOD FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS A PRACTICAL EVERYDAY TENDERIZER.GOOD FOR SENIORS LIKE ME. IT'S A GOOD PRICE TOO.

This tenderiser is a pleasure to use - it's easy to hold due to it being just the right weight and very well balanced.

Works well. I don't know why people keep putting it in the dishwasher. There is a clear warning on it to handwash only.
