Not only are the exercises and demonstrations top notch but you're able to gain a thorough understanding of the style. The pieces are beautiful and challenging, as mentioned you should have a fundamental grasp of some Picado, Tremelo, Rasqueado techniques to get the most out of it but working through the material will prove to be very rewarding if you persevere.

I love this book, as a beginner flamenco guitarist I am learning a lot about the theory of flamenco and its techniques. The quality of the videos and audios are just excellent and the falsetas at the end are really beautiful. It will take me a while to learn them but I am doing my best. Finally I found a book that shows how flamenco music works in a very clear and intuitive way. I am really happy with this product!

All of the material presented in this book is really good but if you don't already have a pretty good understanding of flamenco you are going to have a hard time. The notation is fine and the performed recording are fantastic but they are VERY fast and they do not go into any detail in the recordings about where you are in the compas. There is also no way to slow down the video to better see what the hands are doing. You can slow the audio recordings but they get very robotic sounding when you do.If you are already pretty seasoned this might be a good book for you because all of the falsetas at the end are pretty cool. So for repertoire it is great. But you may still need someone to help get you through it.Overall, I am a little disappointed.

Like the stuff

Yago Santos is a phenomenal flamenco guitarist and his book is an absolute treasure. He covers all the things you need to know and I'm impressed how he just gets straight to the point in his book, there is no messing about. Every aspect of this book is brilliant especially the falsetas and so are the technical exercises too. I'm not going to go on and on but all I can say is if you really want to delve into the flamenco guitar and get good then buy this book.

Este libro comprende la gran mayoría de las técnicas de la guitarra flamenca, divididas muy bien en diferentes capítulos, hablando de cada una de ellas con ejercicios (Partitura y Tablatura) y ejemplos con Falsetas. También abarca armonía, acompañamiento al cante, ritmo...Viene con un enlace para poder descargar los videos de cada uno de los ejemplos y falsetas y también un metrónomo al que se le puede bajar la velocidad para estudiar.Lo recomiendo !!

This is a perfect book if you want to deepen into the world of flamenco guitar, its techniques, compas and repertoire. It starts with an introduction of the history of flamenco guitar and its features. It continues explaining the flamenco rhythmic cycles with recorded palmas demonstrations, flamenco chords, scales and form when playing solo and accompanying a singer or a dancer. This theoretical section is pretty robust and with worthy information for those who are not familiar with this tradition.The second section of the book focuses on the flamenco guitar techniques with practical examples in different flamenco palos, which is pretty cool. The last section shows 24 really beautiful falsetas in seven different flamenco palos with percussion backing tracks to practice. The quality of the audio and video recordings are really good and the falsetas at the end are very musical, this is something that you don't usually find in most instructional books.I have been a flamenco guitarist for over 20 years and overall I think this is one of the best flamenco guitar books I have ever come across.

Es un libro redondo con el que te puedes montar una rutina de estudio desde el primer minuto y sin tener que buscar mas información en otro lado. Las falsetas son de primer nivel y de una musicalidad espectacular.Tengo muchos libros de guitarra flamenca y ninguno se asemeja a este.

Te lleva desde cero hasta un nivel intermedio. Pero requiere que tengas conocimientos de guitarra clásica por tablatura. Si estudias metódicamente y con asiduidad estarás interpretando falsetas y piezas muy bonitas en unos cuantos meses. Diviértete!
