Chemistry

I have found this book to be extremely helpful. Ok, so I'm only through Chapter 4, so I'm giving my opinion based on limited experience, of course. but since I haven't studied much Chemistry in the past I was definitely starting fresh in college. This book has thus far provided very helpful definitions, pictures, tables and fully worked out examples. Many students complain that calculations seem easy when the teacher does them on the board. Unfortunately for me, that's just not the case. With very poor instruction coming from my professor, I find myself relying heavily on the textbook for direction. And what do you know? I read through the chapters and solve all the plentiful examples on my own...and ta-dah! I actually learn what I need to!This text makes a great self-study tool and enables you to grasp concepts and calculations thoroughly. You'll even love finding answers to even numbered problems at the back of the book. Also, the companion website for the textbook is great. It provides lots of colorful animations that really help drive the point home. From my encounters with Chemistry by Chang so far, I would highly recommend it! : )

Once I received this book I was happily surprised at the condition that it was in. I got a very good book that was not damaged and had very little writing in it. Not to mention the wonderful price.I would recommend that everyone tries to get their college or any other books this way.

Although I haven't read the entire book, the parts I did read were easy to understand and were full of explanations. I would have bought a smaller book, but since it was for a class, I had no choice. But amazon's price was way better than the school bookstore as usual.

The book was not as good as I expected it to be. It was not "very good". There were no markings but the front and back covers and spine seemed as if they would fall apart. The edges and sides were either torn or ripped.

I purchased this book for my General Chemistry college courses. It was a great reference for problems applicable to the lectures. Like most textbooks, only the odd numbered problems have the solutions listed in the back of the book. I found that if there were any specific confusions I had with the material, reading over the necessary chapter in the book clarified any issues, without needing to schedule an appointment with a professor for clarification.

I had purchased my daughter's text books on a school approved website but was still missing this one chemistry book when school started. I found it on Amazon for less that what the other site charged and I received it much faster that the other site too. I will definitely use Amazon to order textbooks next year.
