This worked out perfect for a vacation trip. We have a small car, a teenager and infant. So loading up the X3 hatchback is out of the question. I bought this along with 3 waterproof bags for a long trip. This was easy to assemble. I ended up spraying it too which gave it a corse feel and look. The cargo net was a perfect fit amd allowed quick access to stow newly purchased items for the beach.

Bought this to put golf clubs and free up space inside out XT5. Fit two sets of clubs inside the carrier we use to ship. Fit perfectly. Was a little wind noise but not bad and saved us a ton of inside storage. You need two to install when placing on top of car but assembly easy. Well worth it!

Once the rack is assembled it is great.Pros: The rack is easily installed by one person on a vehicle. I liked the way the plastic bumpers snap into place so you don't have to remember locations to clamp to the vehicle rack. I was able to assemble in about 30mins. the first time. I reassembled a second time in about 10 mins. with a powered driver. Great product. I'd buy again. Pretty durable.Cons: The front 'wind scoop' is more for looks than for results. A bit fiddly with the four main pieces for the full size rack. Many bolts, washers, clamps and clips.

So far..... Amazing product. Have not actually put anything in it. Plan in going camping this summer so I can update my review afterwards.I got a compliment on the rack, they told me it looks really cool 😎.It covers my sun roof I won't get a sun burn.... and there is noise. But it doesn't bother me, I just turn my music 🎵 up.Like I said cool so far. Will update after rugged use.So we have had the rack for sometime now and still holding up. The repainting the rack with rust proof paint helps. I added a picture of how to use the clamps to hold the rack best. We had some issues in the beginning but it is much better now. The last two photos are the best way to secure the rack and our last trip how much it held.Still the best purchase ever.!!!

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, but one thing I've seen mentioned in other reviews is definitely a concern that should be addressed by the end user. Upon receipt of the rack, it already had a little bit of surface rust near the weld points, so you will definitely need to paint some. Knowing that this rack is priced at a fraction of the price of the bigger ne brands, I think that drawback is worth dealing with, but if you don't, you should spend the extra money for something else. The other thing I didn't particularly care for was the fact that, if installed per the manufacturer's instructions, you're left with some very large wing-nuts sticking up into the cargo area that would prevent a larger item from laying flat, and might potentially rip any soft sided cargo. The work around I chose for this issue is to install the u-bolt and strap upside-down, so as to have the wing-nuts under the basket, as seen in my photo. Doing this gives me a flat surface for larger items, you'll just need to be sure you have plenty of clearance for your sunroof, if you have one.The assembly process itself took me roughly 30 minutes by myself, not everything fit together perfectly, but it was nothing that wasn't fairly easily overcome. Then the installation process took another 30 minutes with the help of one more person just to lift it onto the top of my car, the hardest part was experimenting with the u-bolts and straps to get them where I was happy with them, and they weren't interfering with my sunroof.As far as the build quality itself, excepting the poor paintwork that needs to be augmented, I'm confident that it can hold more than the stated 150lb weight rating, provided that you evenly distribute the weight, and your crossbars can support it. The only concern I have with the basket lasting is the aforementioned rust issue, which shouldn't be a problem as long as you paint it well.

Was a little crooked upon assembly. Due to the pre-drilled hole location. Lightweight, held my gear just fine. Also, one of these reviews mentioned using extra nuts and washers. I totally recommend doing so.After putting on my car and driving around a week, unloaded. I found 3 of the knobs loose. So I added washers and nuts on top of the knobs, torqued gently but firm. Solid, no movement. M6 x 1.0. 8 of each.

Easy to install, held up really well on a 2000 mile trip.The added straps and cargo net was a nice addition.Love that there is no big logo in the front.

I've had this product for over a month. It was easy to put together and is very solid. So far it serves its purpose as a rack to hold my full size spare tire above my Outback.The complaint I have about this product is the very loud noise it makes when you each highway speeds. Now listen before you state the obvious, yes I knew there would be a lot of wind noise coming off of it, but there is also a loud howling noise that it makes when you get over 65 mph or when there is high winds. It is a loud shrill howl that cuts straight into your eardrums. I'm not even joking, this thing screams in high winds. I don't know if I want to continue having it up there. It could be because I live in a desert and we have high winds here, but man, it's loud.So long story short, great solid rack, horrible howling noise in high winds.
