Great vice
Was a bit harder to install than first appeared but it's in and works great. A custom handle is coming to replace the pvc one

BEAST of a vise, especially for the price.
I've had quite a few vises and "woodworking" vises, but this this is just a whole new animal. I've had a couple of end vises, moxon/twin screw vises, and a shoulder vise, but the 10" yost model is almost like a completely different class. I would not put the 10" model on a bench that isn't absolutely "stout" I had to retrofit my current bench for thickness (went from 1" to 2" thickness). I installed an 18" x 4" x 1.5" chop on this guy fully anticipating using spreader clamps to avoid racking. So far, this really hasn't been necessary. I was a devout shoulder vise advocate (used with a t-track and hold down clamp for edge work and at times, deadmen) primarily for dovetailing and other vertical work. I was hesitant to switch, but it doesn't even rack enough to justify reinstalling my shoulder vise. I chose this option to try to "get away with" a single vise, and haven't had a second thought. What drew me to this vise was the size and Yost's reputation (cost was just a bonus).Fit and finish is excellent. Threading is smooth as butter.Does not include handle. I don't turn, so I just went the hickory blank/draw knife/belt sander route. No problem. No instructions, but this is about as straightforward as it gets when it comes to vise installation. One final note: With the size of the screw, consequently, the thread size, it almost eliminates the need for a quick release mechanism. A professional woodworker may miss the extra couple seconds spent, but a professional woodworker is probably looking for a different class of vise altogether. Advances VERY quickly.

not sure when or where it broke but I contacted Yost and they were great. I filled out some papers and took some ...
I ordered one of these in Mid September for a Nicholson Bench I wanted to build. I ordered it long before it was needed due to wood acclimation ect.I had ordered everything early to keep the frustration level down during the build but when I opened the package to test for fit I found that he front yolk was broken in the center. not sure when or where it broke but I contacted Yost and they were great. I filled out some papers and took some pictures and the day I got the information to Yost they sent out a new part. I had ordered an 18" vice screw for the leg vice so I'm not sure what else I can buy from them but you can count on Yost being my first stop when I need this type product the future.

Missing hardware ?
I knew I was not getting an handle but there was no lag bolts nor machine screws. That's a shame since the vise plate have perfect countersink to receive them. Instructions could have been better, I had to check on youtube.
