What's with all the tape on the model shown?

the tape is holding the model together before its been glued to show how it appears once assembled

And what exactly does it mean what it says it has extra windows I'm hoping it means I can build the 8-bow window Seaview

Hi, it’s referring to the studio models used for the movie and 1st season tv series, they had 8 separate windows in the bow, seasons 2&3 had 4 windows when the flying sub was introduced in the show. I got my model out to inspect and it states improved 4 window tooling and there is no mention of the 8 window option. My kit is still sealed and opening it is not an option at the moment. Also I did some web searching for reviews and didn’t find any that mentions the 8 window option, I did find there was a 8 window version available at one time. I’m thinking about a lighting kit with it. Does anyone know if a 5mm or 3mm led prewire lights will work and if so, which size?

In looking at several lighting kits they use both 5mm and 3mm leds. I suspect the 3mm would be used for the nav and fin lights and the 2 front search lights. The 5mm is probably for the nose, interior and flying sub bay. Hope this helps.

How many parts come with the seaview?

Main hull is only a few, there are engine and other smaller parts, maybe totaling 15-20 some of which may be inside, or out of view and not needed. I chose to keep the flying sub doors off so flying sub is visible under front area.
