Is this depository safe fireproof?

I doubt it. It's barely a safe... Not bad for a budget box to hold daily cash deposits until you get to the bank, but beyond that, it's a good question. It suits my needs fine, and I like that it came with keys as well as the combination lock.

Are the mount holes in the back of the unit so it can be wall maounted?

yes, there are four holes in the bottom and back. We are very pleased with the security and mounting options of the safe. It is not high security, but very appropriate for our needs.
