Backyard Safari Critter Shack

This is a great container for catching insects, however the price for this item I believe is way too high. For the same price or even cheaper, you can get a larger critter keeper that works just as well, if not better.

I can't believe how well made this Critter Shack is for the price! I absolutely LOVE it! I got it so that when I find a special caterpillar (currently a Giant Leopard Moth caterpillar) I can watch it become a moth but I am going to find other little critter uses for it. It is also perfect for kids to enjoy things like crickets and Fireflies! Unlike the close up of the picture, the holes in the top are actually pretty small and I don't even think a firefly would even fit through! It would also be neat for them to catch other critters like crawdads, small toads (for short term observation), etc. It is very well made and the lid really snaps on well. The overall size and carry handle is also perfect for small children. I am so pleased with this purchase and may get more as gifts for my nieces and nephews. It is a perfect gift!

This bug cage is perfect for my 4 and 6 year old girls. They’ve always been a little scared of critters, but this has encouraged them to be explorers in the backyard, catching caterpillars, centipedes, and frogs to name just a few animals. The product itself is very durable, withstanding being dropped multiple times on a concrete floor. The clear plastic sides are nice, making it easy to see inside and also possible to fill with a little water, something the mesh cages don’t permit. The lid stays on tight, even as they carry the cage with the handle...something I’m very grateful for after they carried the frog inside! I’m very pleased with this purchase. Makes an excellent gift.

This seems much sturdier than other critter keepers.Looking forward to the grandkid "test" once the weather warms up.

We started nature journaling this year in our homeschool studies and this little house has been so fun to use!Lizards, frogs, beetles, no butterflies (we felt it was too small and didn't want them to feel trapped) and no ants because Florida red ants are the devil... but this "shack" has given us the ability to add more detail to our drawings and paintings than just using our memory itself.It's been a learning process for us to get that cover on quickly but the squeals and laughter is totally worth it. Even if our catch escaped before we could capture them ;)Such a great tool to have for curious little ones!

Cute container for kid to collect stuff in, I didn’t realize it was so small, was thinking it was at least the size of a shoe box, but was my fault for not checking the dimensions. The top seems sturdy and doesn’t pop off, daughter was very excited to get!

We love this little container! It was great for setting up a little caterpillar habitat so we could see the caterpillars change from chysalis to butterfly. There are plenty of holes in the top for good air circulation and I love that the top is secure but easy enough for my daughter to open without everything flying out. I also like the fact that it is completely clear so that you have a good view of everything. Of course, once the butterfly emerges, you have to remove it since the container is way too small for the butterfly to move around in, but it wasn't a problem for us. The only thing is that I wish it was a tiny bit bigger but it is a good size for the toddler-kinder crowd. Definitely recommended!

A great birthday present for my 5 year old grandson. He just loves tools and so i got the Backyard Safari vest, compass , and critter catching spyglass. He loves it!
