Works well. I use it as laxative when I need to.

My 10yo daughter has had constipation for about quite a few years. Doctors put her on Miralax. She eats lots of fruits and veggies but still has the issue. After 2 years, we decided to make a change. We've tried Metamucil (made it worse), prunes (worked but the taste was too much for her), and magnesium citrate (worked only briefly but made her too sleepy due to better absorption). We then found out that magnesium oxide has poorer absorption thus does not create too much calming effect and stays in the gut to help generate that desired laxative effect instead. I also noticed that she was overly skinny when she was on Miralax and low in energy. After switching to MgO, her body has gained some healthy amount of weight and energy level is better. We use a sifter to sift slightly over 1/4 tsp of MgO powder to make it less grainy, and dilute it into some oat milk. She then drinks it with a straw while stirring to prevent it from settling onto the bottom. She gets one dose every other day and this keeps her regular. She's been on it for around a year and it's been working great! We told the pediatrician and she was happy with it. We are just so glad that she no longer needs Miralax!

It works very well as a gentle laxative! Senna tea, milk of magnesia, and other laxatives have me sweating, running to the toilet, and wishing it would all end while I regret my life choices. Come on, we’ve all taken way more than the “recommended dose” because we wanted quicker relief… but at what cost? Well, I can happily say, not this one. This one is so nice to me. It’s much more gentle and just as effective without the pain and suffering. I take a tsp mixed with cold/room temp water. It dissolves very easy. A little confused by the comments stating otherwise? Also, this is A LOT of magnesium oxide powder. I don’t see any reason you would ever need to buy this again. I bought this to help with phase 1 of Dr. Bakker’s Candida Crusher protocol. Not because of constipation. I’m trying to reset my gut, and kill those nasty buggers proliferating in my tummy! I take a heaping tsp with water on an empty stomach either in the morning, or at night before bed. And boy howdy, it works like a charm!

Good product

Product Quality has dropped completely. This used to be a great product. It probably still is a great product prior to shipment. However how the company is shipping & storing is ruining even creating a dangerous product This used to be one of the only things I could use for my stomach issues & I found it very high quality + friendly for those with food sensitivities. But over the last year, my last 5 attempts to order this product have been met not with the clean powdery magnesium oxide as usual but with super clumpy “powder”. Clearly the product is getting damp during shipment, spending too much time in hot damp places during shipment without the proper protections. So when I say the product is not good and possibly even dangerous - that’s because it degrades the level of quality, & can breed bacteria & mold within the powder itself. Certainly not ideal! At first I thought it was because I ordered via Amazon instead of Now’s website like I used to. But I tried ordering via their site. Still clumpy. I waited several months hoping the next factory shipment might be better. Still clumpy. I waited 5 months. Till now. I didn’t even have to open this latest bottle. The top was sticky, under the top a large stain from moisture & when I touched the safety seal I could actually feel the damp & stickiness. And the plastic & foil were bubbling & separating, that’s how bad it was! I reached out to the company via email for help. No answer. So sadly the only thing I have to do now is to write here. Warning others who may not realize it is not meant to be this texture, that that is from moisture. And to hope it gets the companies attention. Even if they need to up the price a few dollars to get shipping conditions a bit better - I would rather pay that & get back to the damp free, smooth, safe powder fine texture, it would be still a good price and def worth it.
