With some of the other file sets that we have tried one of the main complaints is that the weight is not properly balanced between the handle and the actual file.When these aren't properly balanced it takes more work to keep the pressure of the file even on what ever you are using it to clean up or smooth.It can result in over working the file; causing uneven wear, poor performance and even actual damage to the integrity of the file.These files are comfortable to hold and use.Each of the tools is well made with the handles and the files being carefully assembled/connected.Their effectiveness in creating a finer finish is consistent after using several times on both wood and appropriate metals16 assorted files give you almost all the variety you need for hand finishing your projects.The handy little brush enclosed provides a gentle, yet effective, cleaning for each and all of the tools and should be used right after each use; before storing.Design of the case is both practical and attractive.It is a very simple and well constructed, zippered storage case.Each file has its' own small pocked for the tool point to slip into and there is an wide elastic band by which each of the handles is secured.This means that there is no risk of the file burrs rubbing against each other and prematurely wearing down.At a current retail value of around $35 this excellent little set is well within Fair Market Value.

I used this file to sharpen a machete and an ice chopper.The comfortable soft rubber grip handle was easy to use without getting fatigued. I felt the file chew threw the metal with each stroke. It didn’t take long at all to do the job, the file was efficient getting the job done.It felt very sturdy in my hand and I had no problem pushing harder into the metal to notice it stood up very well!All around great file. If your a jeweler and looking for a nice set of files to get your project up and running this file set is for you. This file set is really well made and maybe one of the best quality for price items ive purchased on amazon so far. Shipping took 2 days! come in a nice case as well, very sturdy and well made.. even the box it came in was nice. I recommend this file set to any one.

Half backed knockoff for half price. It is pretty clear manufacturer wanted to copy Western brand set but did not have all components.3 Large files are good quality, small ones are just a box filler. There is no 12 small files, there are 6 different files with each one included twice.Smaller files are also noticeably worse quality. Different steel, finished only on one edge and cheap twist-on handles that pull apart.

Was looking for a small precision file set so this fit the bill, but bonus was the inclusion of full sized files too.So far so good. A nice fine even cut that allows for proper shaping of your work pieces.Zip up case is perfect for keeping the files organized and prevent dulling by rubbing together if put loose in a drawer.The file card is small but did a nice job cleaning some aluminum material stuck in the file after shaping a part.
