Review: An interesting take on the benefits of hormone therapy vs hormone abuse in order to stay healthy at an advanced age. Great tips as well on exercise and diet to live a healthy life in my opinion. I'm no doctor but I think that it gives a guy something to discuss with a qualified physician and a trainer to see what is suitable for each individual. Review: I am 65 and have been evolving my own version of Dr Life's plan for the past year with excellent results. I was determined to get fit for the last lap of my life and live it as well as I could. From reading various random articles in the media and trying things out, I have lost 20 lbs and changed my shape and fitness dramatically. It helped that I have a background in sport and physical training and a strong interest in getting going on with it. This book has confirmed the things I have been doing right and the comprehensive information it provides both for training and diet will help take me to the next level - I wish I had found this book a year ago!. I think the most significant element for many men will be getting to grips with the hormone balance issue and finding a GP on the NHS to support them in this area. I have not yet been tested for testosterone levels but have tried to increase and maintain my natural levels through resistance training (squats & bench press but not deadlifts due to a back issue) and diet. I think I am doing pretty but I plan to get tested early in the New Year to see where I actually am at. Dr Life is now 78 and has been evolving his ideas since he was 60 so you have to believe that he is the absolute leader in this area of medicine. Not everyone (including me!) will want to take it to Dr Life's level but I think this book will help any man wanting to get started and find their own level of achievement so they can enjoy their 'last lap; to the full.

I am 45 years old. I have or had high cholesterol, high blood pressure and am still overweight although that is improving. I have this book, Dr. Life's other book, The Life Plan and lots of personal research to thank. Looking at this author gives me hope that I can live life to the fullest up and through my senior years and into the twilight ones. The last time I went to my personal physician, my blood pressure was normal, cholesterol is in the excellent range, testosterone was normal and I have lost 23 pounds. I still have about 25 pounds to go and they are coming off as planned. All of this I attribute to Dr. Life as an author and example. I have noticed several reviews that talk about the dangers of HGH or Human Growth Hormone for those that do not know what HGH is. Dr. Life does not recommend this for everyone. Only under the care of a physician and only if you have a deficiency. He would much rather that you increase HGH through exercise and other lifestyle changes. He does recommend testosterone supplementation under the care of a physician as your natural testosterone levels decrease with age just as estrogen is given to women as their estrogen decreases with age. However, testosterone can be increased with exercise and diet as well but will generally need to be supplemented as age increases through the senior years. Sarcopenia affects all men as they age and is a decrease in muscle mass associated with decreased testosterone. Both testosterone and HGH, IF needed and recommended by your phsician help to combat this and other age related diseases. I would recommend this book to all men age 30 and above to prepare for a fantastic long and productive life. You cannot start too early to take care of your temple. You only get one!

I am about the age when Dr. Life started his transformation journey, and I have found this book just right for me, full of wisdom how to manage my body, beginning from how to understand it and how to deal with it's issues, and not blaming getting old. Mentioning issues, I had a couple demonstrated by very bad autoimmune responses for over a couple years, over the time I have found that strengthening the body by vigorous weight exercises and diet, made the issues to go away! At some point we may think about hormonal enhancements, however this is up to the individuals, I hope following the book's regime I will be able to maintain my health without them. Though, I have always been wondering what is the difference between HRT for women which has been used for years, and this what Dr. Life is talking about for men? I am following a routine to attend the gym three times a week, doing weights, I also jog in the other days, and feeling always greater after that. I am battling to get the diet right, but every time I go back to the book, I am back on the right track. Dr Life's book is a great guide to keep young and fit, and remain healthy and independent for a very long time. Thank you!
