Please correct turquoise blue color of pen and show exact blue color in the picture. Pelikan makes turquoise color pelikano too. That is why true reflationary of color for the picture is important to avoid misconceptions. Moreover, shown grip section also does not match with the actual product. The blue model which I received has same color for both grip section and the body.The Pelikan Pelikano has very good design, form, shape, smooth writing experience, quality of material, weight and performance level. So, despite above described mine glitch, I have no intention to send this pen back to Amazon because this pen works great. This feedback is purely a positive feedback and in any case it does not affect the good quality of the product. We want to join hands with Amazon to maintain highest level of precision in representing perfect description of the product, in terms of picture representation and product description to help customers in making right decision while buying product with a peaceful mind from Amazon. I have 2 Pelikan fountain pens and I like this one very much. I don't need a corporate style upper end fountain pen, I just want a good pen for my everyday use. The Pelikano is not expensive and is perfect for my everyday use. One feature it has is a good thick grip. I have fat hands and don't like writing with skinny grip pens. The ink flow is smooth, and there not much nib "angle sensitivity" meaning the nib doesn't have to be in one position to write with. It is a bit shorter than i like but not a deal killer in my world.

The luxury Pelikan pens are so well known that I couldn't resist trying one of their budget pens. All-in-all I am pleased with the pen. It is clearly Pelikan's answer to the very popular Lamy Safarl: the section is triangular, there is a lozenge shaped cut-out ink window, a slip cap, and a steel nib with a shape very similar to the Safari. The clip is quite different (and plastic) and there are rubberized pads for the index finger and thumb. Also, the pen tapers toward both ends as compared to the Safari. My experience with this pen is that it wrote well out of the box and that it is large enough to use unposted. The nib is smoother than my Lamy nibs, but a bit more finicky regarding the angle and any barrel rotation while writing. I am less impressed with the rubberized section as the taper is fairly severe and, lacking a flair towards the nib, feels less secure in the hand than the Safari. It should be noted that the pen, like the Safari, comes with a cartridge but no converter. At around $20, this is a good value, and a decent knock-about fountain pen.

This has been described as an "entry level" fountain pen, and that's a good description. It's an excellent first pen for people who may be interested in using a fountain pen but don't want the expense and aren't certain they want to bother with the cleaning and filling that fountain pens require. Regular fountain pen users weigh the costs against the benefits -- easy, almost effortless writing with greatly improved penmanship. A few weeks with the Pelikano should be enough to decide whether a fountain pen is a worthwhile investment. It writes smoothly with minimum effort. The grip is well designed and comfortable. Writing on a stock lined yellow pad, I haven't had problems of soaking or smearing.Given the obvious limitations and realistic expectations, I have only one objection to this pen, but to me it's a deal breaker: the cap doesn't post well. 'Posting' in the pen world refers to what you do with your pen cap while you write. I prefer to put the pen cap on the back of the pen, and the Pelikano cap doesn't fit firmly. For those people who prefer to hold the cap in their non-=writing hand, or simply leave it on the desk, this isn't a problem, so add a star, but for those of us who prefer to have the cap with the pen, the loose cap can be an annoyance that all the pen's other virtues can't compensate for.

The pen came with a cartridge that was dried out because the ink had somehow leaked. No standard cartridge would fit in the pen either. I think I may have gotten a defective pen.

Very nice everyday fountain pen. The handle is comfortable for long use (like in meetings) and does not tire my hand. Good for journal also. The ink flows really well. I'm trying to get a fine point.

This pen is fantastic for anyone who suffers from Carpal Tunnel - and has been considering a larger barrel with a good grip.The ink doesn't bleed and the medium nib has enough width to make writing look beautiful.Buy it!

Great product, works well right out of the box. Excellent nib, writes very very well! Works much better then those big name pens normally associated with fountain pens.
