For plain bang for your buck, this boat really cannot be beat. It is well-constructed, fast, and turns on a dime. You really need a good size pond to get the full potential from this boat. It has good range on the remote. The self-righting feature works very well when the boat rolls over. Just hit reverse, hit forward, and hit full throttle and the boat pops right over, even with a heavy 5200 mAh battery in it. The boat has fully proportional throttle control and steering. It has throttle trim adjustment and rudder trim adjustment on the remote control. The result is that you have excellent control over the boat. It also has manually adjustable trim tabs in the back. I bought this for my eight year-old son and with some instruction and help he is able to use it by himself and has a ton of fun with it. It will also keep an adult occupied. The seller's page on Amazon could use some help. This is especially true in the extra battery department. For those that are looking and having a hard time finding what extra battery to buy, then here is the scoop. The boat comes stock with a 2500 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo battery with an XT60 connector. If you are looking for extra batteries, then my testing came to this conclusion. You can fit an Hoovo 5200 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo in the boat and still wrap the velcro battery strap about the battery. The link is here https://www.amazon.com/HOOVO-Battery-Softcase-Airplane-Helicopter/dp/B08YR15KQ8?ref_=ast_sto_dp That is the biggest that I could get to fit. If you use that battery, then the boat will sag to the left in the water and while running it will tend to make a left-hand loop instead of running straight. This tendency can be fixed by adjusting the rudder trim with the buttons on the remote. With the stock battery the runs straighter and is better balanced, but obviously you are going to have about half the running time. On the stock battery, if you are not full throttle the whole time, you will probably get 10 minutes out of it maybe more. What I would recommend for extra batteries is that you get the Hoovo 2200 mAh 3S 11.1v battery and just have more of them on hand for longer playing time. The link is here https://www.amazon.com/HOOVO-Connector-Helicopter-Airplane-Quadcopter/dp/B07MQT6YJN?ref_=ast_sto_dp As far as C ratings on the batteries I would not go above 80C to protect the stock electronics and motor. Another thing to note is that battery hatch does not seal perfectly. I solved this by simply coating the stock battery compartment seal with Dielectric grease. After our outing with the stock battery and 5200 mAh battery, which amounted to about 30 minutes or more of playing around, including 3 different rollovers, we had only a drop or two of water in the motor compartment when sealed with Dielectric grease. Overall, I would say that you will not be disappointed with how it comes out of the box and with a couple extra batteries you or your kids can have loads of fun.

This boat is awesome and a great option for beginners, especially if you want something larger. It’s not super fast, but it’s quick enough to be fun while still being very manageable. It’s easy to use, handles well for its size, and looks great on the water. Compared to most boats in this class, it feels quicker and more responsive. I’d highly recommend it for operators of any experience level.

This thing is amazing. I bought it for my 5 year old to use at grandmas lake house. It goes super fast, stays charged for a long time and has great range. My husband will steal it and play with it as well. It’s huge compared to the cheaper toy versions that are marketed for kids. Highly recommend! More money, but way more fun!

I was sceptical at first but now that I own one my scepticism is gone. This RC boat is fast stock out of the box but I made it a little faster, I did the aluminum upgrades, run a 42mm-1.6p prop and changed the angle of the "trim/plane plates" from the stock 45° angle to a 42° angle. This boat is fast, easy to control, very responsive and very very fun to drive. I give this Arrow 5 RC boat 2 thumbs up.

As in the other reviews this boat is fast, fun, and turns quickly. I got a 5200 mAh battery for longer run times but it was just a bit to thick to fit between the battery and the rim of the opening to get the left rear hatch mechanism to latch down and lock. What to do? I used a razor knife to shave about .5 mm from the BOTTOM of the latch arm (under side of the hatch) and all was fine. Hatch is water tight now. Make sure to note the rotation direction and travel for each of the 4 hatch mechanisms. Not the best design but doable and effective. Being black it is a bit hard to see so I put white plastic (packing type) tape on the sides which improved visibility a lot.
