Legendary Whitetails Men's Glacier Ridge Pro Series Winter Coat

Best jacket i had in a while, very warm and still light, not for hunting but for day to day winter wear.

I am pleasantly surprised with how comfortable this jacket is. Most jackets I've purchased have a breaking in period, not this one. I purchased this jacket because I work outside during the winter. This jacket is fantastic for cold weather work. I can last all day outside in this jacket and still feel great.The under arm vents are perfect for letting a little heat out. Standing too long with the jacket on inside a heated building gets pretty hot. I only suggest wearing it while outside. The tail of the jacket prevents any draft from coming in from the top of the pant line. This is a wonderful feature. It's is probably the main reason why I got this jacket, aside from its amazing price. I've searched elsewhere for a decent jacket, but they all cost at least two times as much as this one.This jacket is also rated great for cold temperatures. I'm comfortable wearing it in any weather from 0 to 35 degrees. Also, I only wear a single shirt inside. There is no need for layering additional clothing with this jacket. If you want to layer though, I'm sure even colder temperatures will be comfortable. With layering, I can see comfort at -25 degrees easily.The hood is detachable, and very comfortable. It is made from the same inner jacket material, and keeps my head warm without being itchy. Most beanies I wear always leave me itchy, but not this hood. The top-front most part of the hood could come down more, as I found it always pulls back for some reason. It's not a big deal though if I wear a baseball cap or beanie under it. I like to wear my buffs a lot and it's a perfect hood for those. The jacket has multiple pockets that can hold a lot. My favorite pocket is located on the sleeve that I didn't even notice until after wearing it for a week. It is on the left-side, and is great for little things like keys or snacks.I purchased the size LT (large-tall). I originally ordered the large size, but it was too short in the back, and felt a little tight. I sent it back and got the LT, and it couldn't fit any better. I have a slight athletic build, am about 5'11" tall, and weigh about 196 pounds. The tall versions are an inch longer both on the sleeves and the bottom of the jacket. All in all, this is a wonderful jacket, with a price that can't be beat.

Love this coat! I wear an XL (I'm 5'-9" and between 190 and 195lbs) and the coat is an XL and it fits me perfectly. The size is true and I have room for layers and my 9mm. I would buy this coat again for sure. Haven't had it in cold weather yet though so time will tell on how warm it is.** EDIT ** I have had this coat in cold weather now and it is super warm for as light as it is. I have another coat I ordered made by Caterpillar because I wanted more of a work style coat, too, but what I should have done is order this coat in black instead of the Orange (Onyx). The hand pockets are very hard to use on the Caterpillar coat because they aren't deep enough and are at the wrong angle, but the hand pockets on this coat are PERFECT. I can go outside with the temperatures in the teens with no shirt underneath and this coat keeps me super warm. I wish I could find some matching Legendary pants that are just as warm - I'd buy them in a heartbeat. If you're on the fence about a coat, get this one. If you aren't fond of the orange/camo and want more of a casual look for work and such, get the black one. I bought my son-in-law one of these, too because I expected him to steal mine. The waistband draw strings are awesome, too, that when snugged up, no wind can go up the coat. The sleeves are Velcro-adjustable, too.

This is a very nice winter coat. It actually was a little heavier than I expected. It will be very good in the cold MN winters, but with the armpit zipper vents can be used when it's warmer. The material is heavy and well constructed. Lots of pockets, but I would like the front pockets to be a little bigger or deeper, they can barely hold a pair of gloves without fear of them falling out. I enjoy the hood as it does cover my entire head and with the strings can be closed up for a custom fit. The sleeves are long enough for my long arms and can tighten around the wrists to keep the cold air and snow from going up the sleeves.
