Well built and sharp
This is my 3rd knife from Master Maison and I have loved everything I have purchased from them. They are well manufactured light weight, yet sturdy and sharp. I like the classic look and the handle is comfortable when prepping lots of food. TComes with a sheath to protect the edge while being stored in the drawer as well as a sharpener to keep the edge in tip top condition. This has become my daily prep knife for veggies and boneless meats. After 6 months there isn't a spot of rust, I always hand wash my knives so I'm not sure how it would hold up in the dishwasher. The price point is great, I like their products so much I bought a 15 piece set for my sister as a gift.

Cleaver
These are super high quality cleavers for an unbelievably good price. I've seen others costing a $100 or more and I don't see how they could be any better than what I received. Best of all they were only a little over a $20 as a matter of fact the second one was about $18 plus tax because I got it on sale. I sent the second one to my 98-year-old grandfather who is a World War II veteran and lives alone. He is extremely healthy and walked 4 miles every day unaided amazing takes zero medications and has about a dozen girlfriends some of them in their 40s. He truly is Superman. My grandfather loves to cook so I send him one of these cleavers and he loves it. I really like mine as well and the little divots on the side of the blade are great because those things really do work they keep food from sticking to it when you cut stuff like cucumbers which are notorious for sticking to your blade they just slide right off but this little row of divots somehow it keeps whatever you cut from clinging to the blade. I highly recommend these to anybody don't waste your money on these hundred dollar jobs these are plenty good enough maybe if you're a professional chef I don't know but I don't see how they would be any better. The blade goes all the way through the handle the handle is actually riveted on either side of the blade itself which is tapered down to the size of a handle. You don't have to worry about the blade coming loose from the handle and flying off when you're chopping injuring yourself or someone else. Plus with the blade will all the way through the handle it gives you a lot more chopping power believe it or not it makes a major difference. Mine came in razor sharp you could literally shave the hair off your arm with it I know because... take my word for it. Just make sure you have your fingers out of the way when chopping unless you're trying to chop one off. Asian chefs use cleavers I saw this one the cooking show and I realized they are much better than the way Western chefs use a knife using the Rock and chop method. If you've ever seen somebody using a cleaver you'll know what I mean. When you cut your food with it you can lay it on the side and slide it up under all the pieces you cut place your hand on top and pick up everything at once and drop it in your bowl or pot much easier than using a knife. Plus when you come to something stiff or something that's really hard to cut you can give it a good whack and chop It Off something you can't do with a knife. You can do everything with a Cleaver you can do with a knife plus a whole lot more. Hope this helps everyone who reads this.God bless y'all.Jimmy in NC....

Looks like a knife
To be honest, I usually buy kitchen knives in sets and really don't know much about quality. And I know how to sharpen them but eventually the cheap knives get hard to keep an edge. This knife looks and feels different. It's heavier than I expected which I'm not sure is a good thing, but it feels strong. The quality seems better than expected. I'm expecting good things. The only thing I can question is the handle. I wanted one with some grippy-ness so some variation in thickness, and curve, and the handle on this is comfortable and has the required grip. But the handle has four distinct planes and the edges are pretty abrupt. I'd rather they were more gently shaped but I don't think it will affect function, so we will see...Update: The knife holds an edge very well.

Overall, solid investment
This is a great knife for home or a starter knife for commercial kitchen work. The metal holds the edge well and the sharpener is super convenient and easy to use. This knife is very light weight but durable. As a working chef, the size and weight make it very convenient to use on the line during service. The only negative, which is very minor, is the handle. I have relatively small hands and using a pinch grip it’s a little awkward.

Sturdy little utility knife, perfect for small hands.
My new go to knife! So I have another utility knife that I was using before this one that I love, but it’s just a little bit too big for me. I didn’t know what I wanted, because a paring knife is too small. Then we went to Benihana for my daughter’s birthday and I saw them using these small knives and asked the chef what kind of knife it was. He said it was just a little 5 inch utility knife, but it was perfect for what they do there. So I went on the hunt.I didn’t want to spend another $45 on a single knife, so I wanted a reasonably priced, highly rated knife. After doing some research, I decided on this one.I’m glad I did. It’s lightweight, very sharp and easy to keep sharp with the sharpener that come with it.In the past week(ish) since it arrived, I have used it to cut everything from chicken to tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onions, mince garlic and cilantro and more. It’s like the little engine that could or the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going.I also Love that it came with a sharpener and a sheath. Those two things help to keep it sharp and chip/nick free. It’s hand wash only in my house, because dishwashers are super rough on knives.I don’t know how long it will last, but for the price, I am pretty darn happy.

GREAT LITTLE KNIFE!
I was quite impressed when I received this item. It came in a nice box, well packaged, and even came with a knife sharpener. The knife is heavy and fits my hand nicely. It is very sharp, and I use it mainly as a steak knife. That said, I bought mine for $9.99 a few months ago and I have noticed the price is now $15.99. It's a great knife for $10 but I don't know if I would pay $16 for it.

This chef knife has performed well and has made slicing and diceing much easier.
