My husband is very unsteady on his feet and has had trouble negotiating the two steps down into our attached garage. This has been a lifesaver for him. The metal has a sanded finish so it isn't slippery and, even though it has only one support, it's very stable. Our friend had no trouble installing it on our wooden step. I'm considering another one for the other side of the step.

This railing is surprisingly sturdy! The first one worked out out so well for us, we ordered and installed two more for our mothers.

First one had screw on top which can get loose. Second one has welded top which is much better.

This handrail was the exact solution we were looking for to make our steps safe. The low profile design makes is blend in and the sturdy design adds confidence to navigate the steps to the porch.

Very sturdy, but with some problems.The four inch base is not welded perpendicular to the vertical tube.This causes the entire unit to lean at about a ten degree angle.I had already installed the unit until I found this flaw.Ready just a cosmetic thing, but this was installed inside our Lodge.Tried to figure out how this could have been welded so out of square and then I read the small print at the bottom of the parts list and there it was.“Made in China”That explains it all.Anyway, not gonna take it down and ask for a replacement as I’m sure all the other ones are like this.Just be aware, that if you’re looking for straight up and vertical, you probably won’t find it here.

I ordered this handrail from description of being aluminum which will not rust and a magnet does not stick to aluminum, stainless steel or brass. My magnet sticks to this product which tells me the product is not aluminum. This description seems to mislead the products description.

It came wrapped in bubble wrap however, under the bubble wrap, the powder coating was already coming off and they were nicks and scratches. It also came with 2 sets of screws, which were not identified and a wrench that did not fit the screws.
