Best bang for your buck
This is a great brush...even more so given the price. I was a bit worried when the crown logo came off the third day I had it, although I was a bit grateful considering I didn't care for it that much to begin with. However, I was worried that maybe the rest of the brush was of similar quality. Well, I was wrong. Unlike so many brushes reviewed on Amazon it hasn't shed and it has no odor to speak of. It appears to be well made and does a fantastic job lathering my face. I couldn't ask for more and at this price point it is a real bargain. I can't imagine what the $100+ brushes do better then this brush. I highly recommend it.

is the best shaving brush I ever owned
I am a veteran shaver and have been through many brushes and this my friends, is the best shaving brush I ever owned. I was totally surprised that this brush improved my shave significantly. It lathers up nicely. It hold moisture ver well. This is a terrific brush and it really does improve the quality of your shave. I think the price is good and well worth the price! Again, if you are a wet shaver double edge man, this brush is real good.

The brush makes a big difference.
I have been shaving with a Sensor razor, a cheap boar bristle brush, and Williams shave soap (yea, the one for $1.49 at Rite Aid) for years. On rare occasions I would treat myself to Can Der Hagen. And while I always enjoyed using shaving soap and brush, but I always thought you got a superior lather with canned shaving cream. Then I read about people going back to DE razors. So I upgraded to the big boys. Got an Edwin Jagger DE89 razor, some decent Col. Conk soap and a Royal Shave Badger hair shaving brush. WOW!! What a difference in lather and skin protection! Initially I attributed this to the quality shaving cream. But then I tried an experiment using the Williams soap with this brush. That lathered up great as well. It didn't give me the skin protection of the Col. Conk, but the lather was way superior than anything I had experienced before with the Williams.Moral of the story: the quality of the lather is largely a function of the brush.

I have to thank the seller for his excellent customer service
I have owned a few different badger brushed and I took a chance on this brush due to mild reviews I found elsewhere online.First, I have to thank the seller for his excellent customer service. This was a Christmas gift to my brother in law and for some odd reason the package was lost in the mail even though it showed "Delivery" on Amazon from initial tracking information. I promptly contacted the seller about the issue and he sent an additional brush at no charge due to the situation. It arrived in 1-2 days and was absolutely on time for Christmas unwrapping.Second, I have been able to try this brush out myself as I do own it and for the price it's definitely something to consider. I have owned previous brushes including best badger and other silvertips. As this is not the best silvertip I've owned it is a worthy opponent for the low price of $47 currently. I have been using it for quite some time and I have lost maybe 1-2 hairs which normal brushes tend to loose 10 or more in the first stages of being broken in. The handle is big, comfy, weighty and durable. It's not so big that it wont fit a nice chrome plated stand like the one I ownthe Escali Deluxe Stand. The knot is a very nice size and after a few uses begins to feather out nicely unlike the picture you see in the thumbnails. The brush itself retains much water, but will dry out quickly with a flick of the wrist. I'm not sure if thats a good thing as other silvertips don't share this quality, but without the flick water will remain for a excellent lather. The brush was initially soft, no smell and has decent backbone even after break in period. It does not come in a fancy box like my old Edwin Jagger Best Badger. It only comes in a plain white box with no identifying marks, but we are here for the brush and I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. Conclusion: If you're looking to up your game to a silvertip without the ridiculous price tag then consider this to be a great option. It's not the best silvertip I have had the pleasure of owning, but it's definitely a contender with its competitive price. The durability of the entire brush is sound and barely any hair loss.
