I read this for a book club. What astonished me is the lack of honor and respect that the folks" disappeared" receive.

Although I wish more than anyone that these stories weren't true, and that my own family and friends had never suffered such torment. But it is the reality they've faced. Such truths shouldn't be erased.

The book is a blood curdling account of the muffled stories behind China's censorship and surveillance system - a system that deserves much more international scrutiny than what it currently gets. With more oppression to be legalized in the coming months, the book is a wake-up call the domestic and international public desperately needs. Thank you for your courage!
