What a Great little box of album CD's ! I ordered this set of albums by "The sound" and am Happy that I did. You will get three of the groups " Records " and a special BBC historical session CD too. It is well worth the money and this music is just full of emotion and power. Though I am from this era of the late 70's and early 80's, the time which Adrian Borland reached this Epoch, i unbelievably , never heard of "The Sound" until the fall of 2018. While a handful of groups were present (I don't need to name them) during this time, " The Sound" was never represented as it should have been. I came across Adrian Borland when I saw a video that listed many 80's performers who were no longer with us. I heard a snippet of music and instantly Loved it. Was it post punk or New Wave ? Maybe both and yet neither. More bleak, less syrupy, yet Driven and Powerful and satisfying. Adrian killed himself many years ago but his music and words live on, Happily for Us.

These guys were really great. All the comparisons to Joy division and the Cure and all those bands are right, but these guys did it first. Don't know why they never got the fame the others did, but they have a great sound.

There are no words to describe how much I love this item. It arrived earlier than I expected, and it is in great condition. I recommend this to anyone who loves The Sound!

This is an essential collection. It contains the band's first three studio albums and their related b-sides, out-takes, and live performances. If you love post-punk (or any dark brooding music) do yourself a favor and get it.

Awesome album

One of the most underrated bands of the late 70s/early 80s post-punk era, this is a great set that covers most of the band's early recordings, including my personal favorite album from the band. Even if you bought the CD reissues on the 1972 label, you still need this for the bonus tracks, BBC live album, and liner notes. Additionally, I am pretty sure this set was authorized by Adrian Borland's estate, which may not be true for the 1972 label reissues. Highly recommended.

Questo cofanetto contiene i primi tre bellissimi album dei Sound (oltre ad un quarto cd contenente le registrazioni di due concerti per la BBC). Ritengo si tratti di un acquisto essenziale per chi, come me, ama molto il post-punk. Dalla penna di Adrian Borland scaturiscono alcuni tra i più bei brani prodotti in quel fantastico periodo storico così ben descritto nel libro di Simon Reynolds. Sfortunatissimi da un punto di vista commerciale al tempo della loro uscita sul mercato, questi album meritano di essere riscoperti e posti sullo stesso piano della produzione dei grandi gruppi del periodo. Il cofanetto è la scelta migliore per avvicinarsi ai Sound. Splendidamente annotato e con ciascun album riproposto con la copertina originale. A mio modo di vedere, essenziale in una seria raccolta.

Gran recopilación de los tres primeros trabajos de The Sound, con un cuarto disco de directos en la BBC para completarlo. Los discos llevan bounustracks y están remasterizados. Su primer disco, Jeopardy es sublime. Una pena que la producción no fuera algo mejor, porque las canciones son excelentes, al nivel de los mejores de su género.Una cosa de agradecer es el libreto que viene en la caja, muy completo, con información, fotos y letras. Estoy harto de que las cajas recopilatorias de discografías de este tipo no vengan mas que con el cd en un slipcase, sin contenido adicional (casi todas las de Sony/BMG, por ejemplo). Señores de las discográficas, vender varios cds pelados con un cartoncillo es como no vender nada a los que queremos el soporte musical físico pero además un contenido más allá de este. Pagaría más dinero por un libreto que acompañara esas ediciones, como es el caso (tan caro es hacerlo?), pero como no se molestan en hacerlos, no me molesto en comprarles.
