They will if you use the 4 inch pots just be sure to get the saucers too.

It would hold some tickets, but my opinion use bigger bowl. These ones are nice for decorations or center pieces. To many tickets in them. Leaves you no room to shuffle them around or shake them to mix em up. You'd have to transfer to a bigger bowl or container.

Could a ping pong sized hole be drilled into the bottom of these?

I'm not sure. I think the size is fine. There's a round circle on the bottom of the bowl that would be a good template. I don't know if you should really drill it because it is plastic and it could crack.
