I bought this in hopes of making cold butter easier to spread. When I first got it I could see plenty of manufacturing issues with it. They are minor enough to not send back. (See pictures.) I was able to clean out the holes on the blade fairly easily. The rest I can live with. They are mostly cosmetic. Thankful I didn’t buy this as a gift, I would’ve been pretty frustrated. After cleaning it up I pulled a stick of butter out of the fridge to try. The butter didn’t come through the holes as expected with the cold butter. It did scape the butter along the top of the butter stick fine, but no better or worse than a regular butter knife. I then used it on room temperature butter and started chuckling as I watched the butter come through the holes to the side facing up as I swiped the butter on my bread so I had to keep flipping the knife over to get the butter on the bread. It seems to scrape butter off the bread and up through the holes if the butter is room temperature or warm. It was fun to try, not too expensive to be a waste. I did not try the hole on the tip. Had I known what I found out while trying it I probably wouldn’t have bought it. I can spread cold butter just as well with a typical butter knife. So be it…

Sometimes it's tough to spread with so many holes... But iot works when you figured out how to do it 😊

It took a few tries to get the craving and spreading right but I got now I’m called the butterrista queen at home. Lol it’s fun you should buy it.

I thought this was such a cool idea when I saw them online. Unfortunately, they don't seem to work well with soft breads. I make my own bread which has a consistently softer texture than what you'll buy in a store. This might work well for a multi grain bread, but not for my soft homemade.
