M-AudioM-Track Duo – USB Audio Interface for Recording, Streaming and Podcasting with Dual XLR, Line & DI Inputs, plus a Software Suite Included

We upgraded our audio set-up recently and bought a couple of really nice mics, so a twin-input XLR audio interface was needed. After debating various interfaces, I decided to take a risk and go for the M-audio as I've used older models in the past with very little issue and it was the cheapest by far. Whenever you go cheap with audio gear theres always an element of finger-crossing, but I need not have worried.A few reviews have complained that it feels tinny, and I would disagree. It is deceptively light for sure, but somehow also manages to feel well built and robust. Theres a good action on the gain knobs and the switches are very positive as well, overall despite the low weight I'd say its actually very nicely made as long as you don't plan on stamping on it or putting a marshall stack on top of it. The XLR inputs grip tightly and securely, infact every single port on this little box feels precise and well made.The level of clarity delivered by this interface is really quite impressive, its a very clear, open and honest sound with no tonal colouring which is always going to be preferred by anyone serious about audio as it's a proper "blank slate" to begin with. I found no noise was introduced to the signal at all until the gain was set above 9, which is excellent. Setting it up was so simple a child could do it, and after downloading the ASIO drivers from the m-audio website it was ready to go in seconds. There are no bells or whistles and frills (it does have switchable phantom power but this is unnecessary for my setup so I can't say if its any good) but I'd say its barebones nature is actually its strength. It looks professional, it sounds professional, and its cheap. I guarantee you won't hear the difference between this and a focusrite or similar, and the only reason to buy above it is if you need more features or are planning on using it to beat your bass guitarist over the head, in which case may I recommend a brick instead. Good stuff.

I got the M-audio Duo (was actually classified as used supplied by Amazon). I'm new to the world of audio interfaces, just wanted something so I could record the midi output from my digital piano and then play it back. I'm using an iPad 9th gen with a powered usb hub and also tried it on my phone (xiaomi note pro) and a Lenovo tablet. Works brilliantly on the ipad and phone, no noticeable lag. Not so good on the Lenovo, sound is lagging terribly, but that's got to be an issue with the Lenovo not the interface.Sound is good as I need it to be, no unwanted noises etc. As for being used, it looks brand new to me. So all in all very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend it.

Not the most robust. A bit plasticy so wouldn't go using it for gigs but more than ok for home use.The 2 channels are good for recording 2 mics or 1 mic and an instrument and work really well with indicators to show if clipping.If you are using an expensive set of headphones you may have to turn volume way up, but for most phones it will be fine I think.Just one warning if using a PC, make sure you plug into rear usb as ones on front are a bit underpowered I think as they caused bad noise/hum on mics if plugged into front but fine when plugged into rear.For the money, you can't go wrong.

I wanted an inexpensive but decent audio interface for my older guitar multiple FX pedals that don't have a built in audio interface. Works well, easy to set up, good sound quality, good connectivity, and good value.

I used to have an old Yamaha MW10 mixer with an integrated audio interface, plugged into my computer to use in a daw. This was always a lot of hassle for me however, as there were lots of knobs and dials for each input and loads of possible configurations, but all I wanted to do was use a condenser mic and a guitar direct-in. This audio interface has been much more useable for me as all I have to do is plug the two devices in, adjust levels for clipping, and I'm set!The sound quality is very clear, but keep in mind that the quality I can receive is limited by my £25 headphones, so the actual quality of the device could be far better than what I already hear. Very low latency and has the perfect amount of control.My only gripe is that for some reason when adjusting input gain, there is a rather substantial jump in volume between 9 and 10. This isn't a problem for me however as my inputs start clipping far below that point so my gain never needs to reach that high.

Very good interface and good price

The sound and build quality is absolutely fine bc I mainly just use it for calls, however there are issues which I have discovered. I bought this along with the Marantz Professional MPM-1000, which was a recommended bundle, and I use this on my PC for talking on calls.Firstly, boosting the signal over 80% will cause overdrive and hissing, making it unusable past this point. This mic and interface combo is very quiet, and the extra volume lost by this issue is sorely missed. Secondly, there is an issue with the pitch randomly lowering within apps like Discord and Audacity (but not on the monitor, so you can be on a call and it sounds like you've got a voice changer on without you knowing), and the only way to fix it is to unplug the interface and plugging it back in again, which sometimes requires many attempts and sometimes doesn't work at all without restarting your PC. These are problems I didn't have with an old Scarlett 2i2 I used to have access to, so I'm going to buy another one to replace this.

So far this feels like a great purchase, works a treat, not fully tested but have started getting an odd audio drop where it stops working for some reason but it's easily fixable with a usb pulled out and put back in so could be a software thing.
