I bought these because my husband has an imbalance issue due to chemo treatments and is not steady stepping up or down and getting into the tub/shower is not always an easy task. I put this on the shower wall which is old 70's tile, without cleaning the tile first, just to test the suction power and the strength on this was amazing I tried with all my strength to pull it off the wall and it would not budge. I lifted the latch to take it off to properly clean the tile and used rubbing alcohol to make sure the tile has no left over residue and re-attached it. The strength of this suction is very good. Since it came in a two pack I attached the other one to the French door to the back yard so stepping out onto the patio would be safer for him since there is no way to put a handrail outside and it works for him to get out of the house and it's easily accessible for him to get back into the house. Definitely recommended them.

Bought these for my mother for the shower. I followed the instructions to make sure that the surface was cleaned before putting them on. They stayed on for a couple of showers but then they fell off. The bars stopped suctioning to the wall. I do not feel that these shower handles are safe for anyone that is relying on them for support. I would not purchase if you are looking for support and safety from these shower handles.

So the good news is that these have powerful suction. I don’t know if they will lessen the longer they are attached, but when you first put them on they are definitely on strong. The problem for me at age 72 and a widow, is they are powerfully stuck, even before I would push down the locks. I couldn’t remove them. Just sticking them on there is too hard for me to get back off. I probably would need to push a thin bladed knife behind the suction cups to break the suction. Thankfully my son came over and helped me. We tried to figure out where to place them to help me get out of the tub. I bought them so I could take an occasional bath instead of a shower but I’m not sure if they are going to help me. I am having trouble figuring out where to place them. But once a place is chosen, they need to be locked down and there is no way I can snap down those locks, they are so tight. I think I’m in pretty good shape for my age and pretty strong, but I finally got just one lock down, using all my strength. If I ever find the best position to help me out of the tub, I can lock them in and forget it, but until that happens, they are very difficult for elderly people to move around, and yet they are the ones who need the bars in the first place. So I’m not sure if I would recommend or not. I guess if you have someone to help you place them and lock them and leave them in one place, these are probably a good deal.I do kind of wish they were all one color. I’m not a fan of the black and white. It doesn’t go with my bathroom decor at all. They really stand out rather than blend with the tub. If you don’t have black in your bathroom or modern decor, they kind of stick out like a sore thumb.

These grab bars are essential for the tub or shower. Wet the suction cups before applying them to the wall.They hold very well and make the shower or tub safe for grabbing on to.
