This set is really great! First let me say we accidentally ordered 2, we only meant to order one but I am actually glad we did, here's why. I have an active, curious and busy toddler. She is 23 months old and I am always on the hunt for things that are educational without being boring or electronic. When I saw this I thought, perfect let's give it a try. First, I was happy to see the bag they come in is not just a carry pouch but a little backpack, too cool! Second when we opened them I was happily surprised at the size of them, they are larger and more lightweight than I thought they would be. They have no rough edges, no weird chemical smell (some toys I have ordered her from Learning Resources we have had to return for having a strong chemical smell) and even though she may be a little young to sit and do the whole bag right now, they kept her busy and interested..which brings me to why I am glad we accidentally ordered 2 not 1. I have put the second set in the car! Sometimes we dash out for a quick few errands that turn into more, these have been perfect to stash in the car and not have to worry about batteries and heat and it easy to keep them from getting lost in the car since they have their own brightly colored bag and even though we might lose one bolt here or one nut there, unlike a matching set where everything has it's own specific match, if we lose a bolt, then she can just learn you can problem solve and screw a second nut on to a bolt with one already.

Up date:Upon further review--The pieces DO actually screw together-- IF and ONLY If you match the shapes! Square to Square, Triangle to Triangle, etc. all will screw together. If you don't match the shape however, the nuts slide completely down to the base of the bolt without engaging the screws--or don't slide/screw on at all and stay stuck at the top of the shaft.This is illustrated by the only enclosed guide-- all in pictures, no written explanation.I remember Nuts & Bolts sets behaving more like the real thing-- where different pieces could all be screwed together. This is just different, but we'll give it the toddler test. On the plus side:The colors are nice and bright , good for sorting. A child could stack the nuts.

My little one enjoys these, although one of the bolts was a mismatch for the nut. They have held up very well and the difference in threads and widths along with shapes and colors has been good.

I am actually a pediatric occupational therapist and I have been using the nuts & bolts set in therapy sessions this week. So far, I am loving the product. It seems to be very well made and I believe it will last me for a large portion, if not all of my career. Durability is very important to me, as I spend my own personal money on most of the toys that I use in therapy. I love that the nuts and bolts have to be matched by not only color, but also by shape. This adds a valuable cognitive aspect to the toy. I think the challenge of assembling and separating pieces is “just right”- meaning not too easy and not too difficult. Initially when purchasing, I almost did not purchase because of the price. Now that I have the toy and see that it comes in a carrying case (drawstring bag), I believe that the price is a little more justified. Ideally, I think the price point would be better closer to the $15 mark, but honestly as of right now that is the only improvement I can think to improve the product. This toy is great for visual perceptual skills, bilateral motor coordination, dexterity, hand eye coordination, hand strength, motor planning, and more! I am only a few days into using this toy, but I see it being a frequently used item in my therapy materials!

I was looking for a set of nuts and bolts for my 3-year-old, and these caught my attention. They are colorful, and just the right size. Shipping was fast. My kid was excited to use them, but he promptly let me know that one of the nuts didn’t match the bolt. We had received a green square bolt with a green hexagon nut.I contacted Education Treasures and, even though it was a weekend, the representative told me they would look into the issue as soon as they got back to the warehouse on Monday.I was very pleased with the customer service. They sent me a replacement green square nut in just a few days. My kid was excited when he could put together the whole set. The quality is great, and he’s practicing his fine motor skills.Thank you, Education Treasures for not disappointing my little guy. Five stars ⭐️!
