It’s a perfect anti utopian novel by Zamystin. George Orwell was inspired by this book and wrote famous book 1984.

We is justifiably famous as one of the earliest reactions to the Soviet era. While is it claimed to be the first sci fi novel, I see echoes of H.G. Wells. I found the translation to be too contemporary. Electric toothbrushes in 1920? In all, I consider the book more an important historical artifact than a great work of literature.

Writing is (obviously) outdated, but zamyatin is a brilliant and this translation is done beautifully ♥️

era da tempo che cercavo una versione con copertina rigida in inglese, molto bella ben curata con prefazione e postfazione molto interessante...forse un unica pecca che ho trovato è nella rilegatura la vedo leggermente debole

Esta edición es un placer que hace justicia a la novela de Zamyatin."WE" fue prohibido en Rusia por ser ideológicamente indeseable. Fue traducido en muchos idiomas alrededor del mundo antes de finalmente ser publicado en 1988 en Rusia.
