Excellent alternative
I have been using brand name Rage for years, even have the new Hypodermic that came out this year. They are great broad heads, no doubt, but being the only one of its kind they were gouging us customers for everything they could. One of my blades bent badly early this season after hitting a rib just right, and when I checked blade replacements, I couldn't believe the price. I got this set of 12 broad heads for a little more than the price of a few extra replacement blades.Naturally I had my doubts, being a knock-off brand. But they are just fine. My honest opinion is that the Rage are slightly better quality. But the "you get what you pay for" mentality doesn't work here. They are a FRACTION of the cost of the brand. And they work great. The rattle mentioned in other reviews can also occur in the name brand, and can easily be fixed with a little bow wax like another reviewer suggested. As far as falling out of place easily, I have learned to place the shock collar so that the blades do NOT line up with the open slits in the collar. When they are lined up with the slits, I could get the blades to come loose with some good shakes or gentle pressure - no problems as long as they are offset. I do recommend sharpening, but even out of the box they'd do the trick. They're freaking razors, for goodness sakes, the whole hypodermic thing seems a bit markety to me (though I took the bait).Field testing is minimal. I waited to post this review until I had downed a deer with one. The Rage Hypodermic (for crossbow) I shot earlier in the season bent really bad but deployed well and did the job. I took a doe yesterday using the Mokasi with no issue. It deployed perfectly and stayed deployed, a full 2" entrance and exit would, and in fact with the angle of the shot it went straight through three ribs upon entry. (see photo)In summary, there could probably be an argument for the quality of the Rage over the Mokasi, but it is DEFINITELY not as different as the price suggests. It's hard for me to believe that the terrible reviews, like claiming it's unethical to hunt with such a poor quality broad head, etc, aren't coming from Rage. They are so close sometimes it takes me a while to figure out which one's which. These Mokasi are fine broad heads and a steal at this price.

They have apparently improved their packaging because mine came in a nice plastic package that kept them all separate eliminatin
I received a package of these today and from all appearances they are almost identical to a rage hypodermic. I shot a number of them at my 30 yd target and they shoot identical to my field points. As most reviews on here already say they do not come sharp so if you plan to hunt with them make sure you have a way of sharpening them first. They have apparently improved their packaging because mine came in a nice plastic package that kept them all separate eliminating the problems others were having with them being banged up in shipping. I am going Antelope hunting Monday and as soon as I get a chance to put one through an animal I will update my review with kill data.UPDATE: I just shot an antelope with one of these from 40 yds. I hit it well taking out both lungs and it only went about 80yds before expiring on its feet. I found the arrow about 50 yds behind where the antelope was standing and the broadhead was in tact. It had a few knicks on the blades from going through ribs but still shootable. Sharpen them first and shoot with confidence.

great product
Dude!!! I've been using Rage heads for years. Loved them. (Past Tense) Rage was the greatest archery innovation in years. However, recently they changed to a plastic collar to hold the blades. Rage didn't update their head to accommodate the collar, and it's hard to determine how tight to seat the head onto the arrow shaft, i had some Rage collars break on installation and other open in flight, so for $15 per head i expected excellence from Rage. Rage ruined a perfectly good product so i walked.I purchased these cheap Amazon clearly Rage knock offs for 1.10 per head to try. THEY WORK!!! The metal is cheap, the product is dumbed down, BUT THEY WORK. Before i went out deer hunting i shot a few squirrels and a goose. The blades opened on contact and stayed intact. The very next week i shot a huge bodied buck, arrow passed through, cut a great hole, i could use the same head over again. I like the thin point tip, i feel the point will stick at any angle preventing deflection. the head seats easy onto the shaft. You can tighten the head onto the shaft like any arrow head. Cons: they rattle in the quiver and on the draw. Carbon arrow shafts act like a speaker to amplify the rattle. They are not sharp, and the metal is too cheap sharpen properly, but they passed thought a big bodied 260 pound buck and kept going. What more can you ask for the price. If i had to ASK for something, it would be this head with some better metal at a price above they are currently selling. Ad a little quality back into the metal, eliminate the rattle and this could be the ultimate head. So i give five stars with a challenge for improvement.

Just as good, only you keep your arm and leg
See tips below to address the minor issues with these. Stop wasting your money, and padding the pockets of companies that charge a markup that should be considered robbery. THESE ARE JUST AS GOOD as Rage. Weights on my 12 ranged from roughly 97.4 to 98.8, Rage are about the same fluctuation around the 101-102 mark..Worried about sharpness? Rages are $13 a piece. These are $2. Buy these and I will sharpen 12 of them in 12 minutes to shaving sharp, and only charge you $5 each to sharpen them. That will save you $6 a head, since my price is $6 cheaper than Rages for sharpening heads.TIPS: THESE AND RAGE rattle. If you take a thin piece of masking tape and wrap just above the sharp portion of the blade when closed..the rattle is gone and flight characteristics nor weight are changed.Take a cheap pull through sharpener and hit them 2-3 times and then use a leather belt and they will shave the hair right off your arm, takes about a minute a head. And yes, I sharpen the Rage broadheads when I get them too.
