Great TV, especially for the price
This TV is most excellent. I am not a videophile, but this was a huge upgrade from my 42" 1080p Plasma from 2008.If you are a videophile, you probably aren't even considering purchasing this TV anyway, but to me the video quality looks great. This is a "dumb" TV (not a Smart TV), which I am actually grateful for (I don't want my ****ing TV connecting to my ****ing WiFi anyway), so don't buy it if you want a smart TV.My thinking is, I don't want to be stuck with TV software that is behind the times in 5 years. So I bought an Amazon Fire TV, which I can replace if it gets slow or I need to get a cooler thing. Harder to do when the software is built into the TV (like with a Smart TV).Here are some facts:- This TV is an excellent value for the price- You can probably get better picture quality if you spend a lot more money- I only had 5 dead pixels which is pretty good (and actually impossible to see from the couch anyway, I tried)- It would be cheaper to buy 4 of these and get a 130" screen than to buy some of the other 65" TVs on the market, which is ridiculous

Exactly as expected, & correct model.
Been in service for 5 days, & is everything I expected. The chassis plate says the correct model number, same for the box. No question this is the TV I ordered. Couple of things I like, there is a "Picture" button on the remote that steps through several presets of brightness, contrast, etc., including a "User" setting, which I tamed down further than the "Mild" setting for watching at night waiting to go to sleep. There's also a sleep timer handy with the remote. During the day I leave it on "Vivid," which is very bright & clean, best picture we've ever seen. The "upscaling" of some older programs like Star Trek: TNG isn't as sharp as modern HD shows, I did't really expect it, but t's still very good resolution. So far, I couldn't be more pleased. I accidentally turned off the power to the THX receiver this morning & the TV speakers kicked in, the receiver still passing the satellite signal, and you don't want to hear the speakers by themselves. Like the kitchen TV I based my decision for this one on, the speakers are very tinny. In the kitchen I just hooked up a couple of spares from a kit I got to add a subwoofer to the wife's computer. They sound fine in the kitchen, If nothing else, you need at least a subwoofer in addition to this TV's speakers. I got exactly what I was expecting, and I couldn't be more pleased.

A three star TV at a five star price
I should preface my review by noting that I probably don't use this TV in the way that most people would. I use this TV as a PC monitor for my work 30 - 50 hours a week, as well as to watch movies, TV & play XBox games. So it's probably turned on for a good 60 - 70 hours a week.Got this as an upgrade to my three year old 55" Vizeo HDTV, which is still a solid TV, btw, even though I've probably already put 10,000+ hours on it. The 4k display allows for higher resolutions as a PC monitor, which allows me to fit a lot more stuff on the screen for work (easier multitasking). In general: the 4k is a good new feature most of the time, but the TV is otherwise pretty unremarkable or even a little below average. So mediocre overall, but still a good value at the $700 I paid for it.As a PC monitor it's nothing spectacular. It displays everything fine, except that it cuts off a sliver of the screen all the way around the edges. The TV settings don't allow the fit to be changed when a PC is the input. Not the end of the world by any means, but not perfect, either. For games, movie and TV it's a very good screen for the most part. Pictures generally fit well and look good. I'd say probably 95% of the time the 4k upscaling works well. There are some games and movies where the upscaling doesn't work so well and the edges of objects look fuzzy or distorted.Cons:1) The brightness isn't consistent. Sometimes it'll start off brighter for a while in the morning and then I'll see it noticeably dim after an hour or two of use. I've only noticed this when using it as a PC monitor, which means lots of bright white on the screen. It may be too subtle to notice in other contexts.2) Maybe once a week I've noticed the screen will get buggy after I switch from one input to another. I have to turn it off and then back on again to get it to display properly again. A little annoying, but as long as it doesn't become a frequent occurence I can live with that.3) As others have noted, this thing takes a while to turn on. Also, given my long-time use of PCs I associate a solid blue screen with bad news, which means I instinctively get a bit worried every time I turn it on or change input sources and get hit with the blue screen the TV shows while connecting to the input.4) I am not aware of any way to use the TV volume to control the volume of my speakers (the TV's speakers are not very good at all). It's slightly annoying having to adjust the volume with a separate remote. There's an option for that in the TV's settings, but it doesn't actually work, at least not for my speakers. Since that wasn't an issue with my Vizeo, it's gotta be the TV's fault.

Great TV.
This 65 inch Sceptre TV is better than I could have hoped for. The picture, and yes even the sound, is as good as any TV I have seen, including Samsung, LG, etc, and for much less money. I love the fact that it is NOT a smart TV, which is really not necessary. I connected a UHD Roku box to my TV, and the quality is better than my Samsung smart tv, in my honest opinion. There is plenty of UHD content to stream, especially on Amazon prime, and it looks so lifelike on this TV. Bottom line, if your looking for a 65 inch 4K UHD at an affordable price, then you cannot go wrong with this Sceptre model. And by the way, I set this up myself, and it was the easiest setup of any TV I have ever owned. And I did not have to make a single picture or sound adjustment, it was perfect right out of the box. Just a final thought, High price does not always mean best quality, especially in TV sets.
