Q: Are these real johnson brothers english china ?

Yes they are real. It is a very lovely set. The place setting is a bit smaller than a 10" dinner plate it is a 91/4" but I do love the set.

Q: R the used sets made in china?

The ones I bought to supplement my original set are made in China. The shape is somewhat different (you can tell when you stack them). The salad bowls were awful. Very faded out. The rest were acceptable, but far from the quality they used to be from England. I was bummed, but really had no choice.

Q: How big are the dinner plates?

The dinner plates are about 8 inches in diameter. Have not had problems with plate sizes when I have guests. Love the dinnerware.
