ALEX ToysSpa DIY Bubble Bars

The Alex Spa DIY Bubble Bars kit does not make bars of soap. Think of this kit more like bubble bath in bar form. Once the bubble bars are dry, you crumble them under running water to have a foaming bath. The bubble bars are easy to make. Just do not expect them to look like the pictures on the box. The only extra item needed is some type of vegetable oil. This comes with three colors ( pink, blue and yellow) and two fragrances ( green apple and coconut). The green apple scent was barely detectable, just a whiff of apple. The coconut fragrance smelled to me like a toasted coconut scent and it is a light fragrance. There are 4 nice plastic shaped cutters and my daughter kept them and uses them with playdoh. We let these dry for 2 days, and then crumbled them under running water in the bath. The bubble bar did release foaming bubbles, but the bubbles lasted less then two minutes. So, overall, I am unimpressed with this kit and would not recommend this as a gift item.

My kid enjoyed making them, but when the soap dried it was fragile. It barely made it to the sink from the counter. If you like quick, easy crafts this is one.

My daughter and I did this project together and it was fun, but when we added the dye to the soap, it became very watery and sticky and wouldn’t mold into anything. Also, the dye colors were neon and all similar in color- not at all like the picture. I ended up having to throw them away because they never set up and were just a crumbly mess. The dye also took a few hand washes to get off. Disappointing.

This product didnt work. Between 3 kids, all different shapes and sizes with no added features or add ons. Just solid pieces. Left out for over 3 days to dry. Never worked. I bought to keep them busy but ended up keeping them busy 30 minutes and threw all my money away.
