Such a beautiful book and great person

I picked it up on a Saturday afternoon and read 3 chapters, sitting on the porch, waiting for my drummer to pick me up for a gig. I did don’t want to put it down and couldn’t wait to get back at it the next day. Sunday came and I crawled outta bed, grabbed the book, went back to the porch and sat there till I finished it.It’s an easy read and it’s a great read. The story is interesting regardless of whether or not you’re into Calisthenics. It’s a story of someone winning in life with what could be very easily classed as a lousy hand.What struck me most and what resonated with me most was the fact that the Truth in this book is simple Truth. The violence isn’t gratuitous and the gang-life past isn’t sensationalised or ‘puffed up’ to pad out the narrative. Far from it - I just felt inspiration and real genuine gratitude and humility in every word. It’s a deeply spiritual book without making any attempts to be one.I felt an instant connection from the moment I lifted the book and would recommend it to anyone. There were a few moments when I actually felt a tear trying to escape from the corner of my eye. It’s been a while since a book had that effect on me.

I received this book four hours ago and have now finished it. What a wonderful read! This is not an instructional book, nor is it a glory-fest of the various aspects of his life, but there are many lessons and a glut of inspiration contained within. Highly recommended.

Este libro me ha dejado en shock. Es sobre alguien a quien sigo hace tiempo en Instagram, Chris Luera, del que leí un breve resumen de su vida que me dejó atónito, haciéndome comprar el libro. Una vez lo empiezas, este te va enganchando cada vez más hasta que no puedes dejar de leerlo. Es un libro totalmente inspiracional, y lleno de relatos de este triunfador atleta calisténico que pasó por mucho hasta que consiguió hacer de su vida historia. Una de las cosas que más me llama la atención y que más me gusta de este libro es que cuenta de primera mano como consiguió romper las barreras sociales, y sobre todo mentales para llegar a desarrollar todo un gran potencial que tenía por explotar. Una pasada de libro 100% recomendable!!

Es nimmt dich mit in das beeindruckende Leben des Protagonisten, der sich aus eigener Kraft und mit viel Willen und Motivation aus seinem anfänglich kriminellen und ausweglosem Leben zwischen Drogen und Gefängnis zum dreifachen Weltmeister und gefeierten Star der Streetworkout-Szene hochgekämpft hat. Ich habe während des Lesens mit ihm gelacht und geweint, mitgefiebert und mich mit ihm gefreut. Er schreibt sehr ehrlich, voller Träume, Erwartungen und Hoffnungen.Das Buch ist in einem einfachen und leicht zu verstehenden Englisch geschrieben und ist daher auch für Sprachangänger geeignet.
