does this come with the arerm? I did n't get the arm

Depends on the option you choose. I ordered just the mount, but there is an option to get the boom arm too.

what length are the arms?

Both sections from joint to end are just a little over a foot, maybe about one or two inches over. The entire arm is about 2 and a half feet in total.

Will it work with adhesive strips?

Absolutely not. Requires screws with a solid piece of wood in which to be anchored.
