Simple But Sturdy
I bought this for my treadmill that has a flat panel and no stand. It's sturdy and fits my iPad nicely. I haven't tried it with a book because I run and I can't read while I run. I love that it's clear and I can lift my iPad and easily see my time/mileage. I could use one with a smaller lip/holder just because it's a little difficult to access the bottom of my iPad while running but it's not anything major. Seems like it would be great for books if you're a walker. For the price I would highly recommend.

Great holder for phones and tablets
I use it while on the peloton. Works great!

Treadmill accesory
When whether condition require walking on the treadmill I use this kindle holder so I can read and walk. It really makes the boring treadmill walk more bearable.

try again
Pay close attention to the dimensions... I got this to hook on my treadmill, but it doesn't work--the hook piece on top of the book holder is much too narrow to fit around the face of the treadmill.

Versital Addition
My wife wanted this for our elliptical so she could watch here ipad while exercising. I like that it works for my Samsung Galaxy too.
