Great RPG
Okay the review is going to cover a few things.1. Rules are easy to follow and are well written. The system has some parts of it feeling a little same to D&D 5E, but seeing how small the RPG world is at the corporate level I am not shocked. The book walks you through the character creation easy enough. This book is everything you need to start. The investigators handbook just adds to it.2. The world is great. You should have a slight knowledge of Lovecraft before running this game, but not to play the game. It is a horror RPG, so be prepared to take things slow, but interesting this world is not meant to be a murder hobo setting that can work something, but it is more about figuring things out. I love the setting even if Lovecraft was a bit off himself.3. The book is clean and easy to follow. I started as the keeper of the lore (DM). Never playing in the game, but it was okay I just read a module the first time. I own this book three time. On Fantasy Grounds, PDF through Drivethrurpg and hard cover I picked up on Amazon. The print is clear and is not cluttered with pictures behind it. The book is hardcover and seems well bound. All in all it is a fun RPG that was well written and easy to run. If you are a fan of Lovecraft then this book is great. If you are just looking for something other than D&D and pathfinder again great choice. Even if I think this and the other two systems are the three most well known.Other RPGs to look at in horror if that would be your thing.1. Kids on Bikes2. Vampire the Masquerade/werewolf apocalypse.3. Dread

A brilliant ttrpg
If you don't know the cthulhu stories this book gives you everything you need to spin fantastic horror tabletop rpg sessions. If you do know them, this book is a fantastic foundation to create truely terrifying horror sessions. The mechanics of the call of cthulhu system are intuitive, and lends to the horror and tension perfectly
