Q: Are these Rosemary and Co brushes?

This is a very good set of brushes which you can use for oil or for acrylic. They are not Rosemary and Co., this set is from Zen Art Supplies. The price is much better than Rosemary and Co.

Q: I'm using oil, will the bristles make my strokes too textured or will I be able to get smooth strokes?

As a professional artist, I have been very pleased with these brushes. I work in oil also. These brushes have two different type of brushes included in the set. I have discovered the hog hair gives a more textured pattern to the painting and the badger brush gives a more smooth stroke. I prefer a textured look sometimes and often use the hog hair. However, in some back ground scenes I have found the badger hair works nicely to give a smooth finish. It is really a matter of personal preference. The set is a wonderful set, giving you the opportunity of a textured or a smooth finish. Hope this helps and happy painting!
