So if you have been working in the video production industry for any amount of time you have for sure heard of Proaim. They make some of the best robust products, in particular grip gear, on the market. This shooting stand is just another example of the quality of products they produce.Something you should be clear about right up front. This isn't a platform to use on your usual $29 Amazon light stands. This is a beefy boy! At minimum you want a fairly strong tripod or a higher end light stand that can support real weight. That being said, that is actually an asset not a hinderance. The build quality of this platform is simply outstanding. There is next to no flex at all in the platform itself. The mounting point on the underside is super strong. You can choose from a 1/4 mount, 3/8 mount or your typical light stand mount. Personally I use this with a light stand and use a baby pin to mount this platform.It also comes with a little carrying case. I wasn't too sure of the value of including this but then I realized it probably best to use it when storing because you also get a little foam pad to use on the top of the platform which helps to protect whatever you sit on this thing. It could be really easy to loose this foam piece so best to store everything in the included bag.

I'm knocking a star off this because they overplayed the mat in the description, it slides easily back and forth on the metal platform. Which makes me nervous since I'm putting a laptop on it and people will be walking around nearby when I'm using it. I expected it to grip better.I'll probably be able to address this one one side with something sticky, but my laptop also is sliding pretty well on this mat, and I can't very well tape it down.That said, since the rest of the product is fine, and since the price was better than the alternatives (although still a bit steep for what it is), it's overall a positive purchase.A holder for an external harddrive would have been a nice touch.

It’s okay. I wish it had more secure features for how expensive it is. The model up it’s too pricey.

The rubber pad is separate from the metal plate- so it moves around and will fall off. very cheaply built

this is a very well made workstationsuperb to set your laptop down in a workable areabut you need a robust set up to support it...connection is well made and robust...this thing is bullet proof...its a bit expensive, which I would like to delete 1/2 star4.5 rating from me...

I use this tether table for interior design photography and it is well built and affordable.If given the opportunity, I’d purchase it again. The Arca Swiss machining was a pleasant surprise.

Complètement satisfait de cet achat. Monté sur un pied d'éclairage, je pourrai, en toute confiance, l'utiliser pour un PC portable en studio.
