Purchased for carving large pieces of meat and other large cooking projectsThe bamboo is nice looking and trimmed into an attractive shape.The board is sturdy and heavy (solid, not cumbersome).It doesn't slide on my counter top pads as some cheaper plastic boards do.I can pound items on it, drop things on it, and carve away without cracking or marring the finish.The perimeter juice groove is thoughtful and works well at keeping my counter top dry except for the runniest of items (such as a large watermelon). This is no flaw of the board.Highly recommend for a solid, attractive, and very functional wood board

I really like this board, I use it all the time. It has a lot of loose fibers on it but I figure they will eventually disappear (or you could sand it I suppose). I haven't oiled it since no instructions came with the board saying to do so, but it would probably be a good idea as other bamboo boards I have read about say to oil it. I may do that one of these days. The board is really heavy and the size is good, but I could use an even larger board than the one I got. I have not experienced any warping or cracking, but I don't allow the board to stay wet. After use I rinse or wash it and lean it upright to dry. It dries very quickly. I keep it leaning against the wall on the counter. Looks nice.

I like it more than the plastic cutting board I used before.It has grooves in the corners, which is great for cutting wet food. The traces of the knife remain well...

09/06/16 - UPDATE: 2 more star for Heim concept's customer service. Further to damage of my product and my reviews, I was processed a full refund today. I will not hesitate to buy a different products from Heim concept, as they displayed their priority to customer satisfaction on this one.09/01/2016 - UPDATE: a little while ago, when I did my earlier review wood was showing little cracks and I only didn't like it for food particles getting stuck in the cracks. Now, wood is lifting prominently out of the board in 2 of the 4 sides (photos attached) and it is only 5 months old. As much as I wanted to like my first bamboo cutting board, this sadly discouraging me from going for any wood based cutting board again. One star is for the reason, it does keep my knife sharp longer and doesn't slip while cutting.first review: I am still using it, but it is too heavy for me and the two side attachment wood is coming off, so food particles are getting stuck in between. Wish it was better

I leave this cutting board out on my counter in my prep area. It really looks nice and it stays flat--it doesn't show any tendency to warp as my previous cutting board did.

It seems goofy to say I love a cutting board but I love this cutting board. I've been using plastic/nylon cutting boards for the last several years after my old wooden boards cracked. I cannot believe how much better this bamboo board is. Maybe it's the harder surface that makes everything go faster. If I didn't know better, I'd think I'd sharpened my knives. The little groove really does keep juices from running down onto the countertop. It's heavy enough to keep it stable but not so heavy that it's difficult to wash. I haven't owned this board very long so I can't say how long it will last but, at this price, it's worth finding out.

I love this. It is thick, heavy, and sturdy. I bought an anti slip pad to go under it as well but I havent actually needed it so far. I am very pleased with this product. I love that the build seems to be such that it will eliminate the splitting I've experienced in other bamboo boards when they age. I've had two that split with the grain along the long sides but this one having the perpendicular grain on the ends I hope will eliminate that problem. I wish the groove was a tad deeper around the sides. Carving larger pieces of meat has been a bit messy.

Could've glued better. One side has shown molds as can be seen in the picture. But it feels sturdy and durable.

This is a great sturdy cutting board. I just wish it had 4 small sticky pads underneath so the board doesn't slip.
