This is an excellent book, not just as a textbook, but for the profession as well. If you are or want to be a Christian counselor, this is a must read!!

I needed this textbook as a required reading for a master's course. So far I am pleased with the content of the book. It is presented in an easy to understand and appealing to read format. I have used other works by these authors and find their works to be consistently solid in providing useful, practical instruction.

It reads as a textbook at time and then almost as a devotional at other time. Very interesting reading though!

Hawkins & Clinton guide new counselors and students through what it means to be a Christian Counselor. Great book for all in or going into the field of Christian counseling. A must have book to read.

There is so much truth in this book I don't know where to start. Definitely will use this as a reference to remind myself of what it looks like to be a Christian counselor.

Textbook for a class I am taking. Hawkins and Clinton have authored so any christian counselling type books. This book is easy to read. A great book for those who are looking at getting some foundation for Christian counselling. I would highly recommend this as a read for pastors and lay leaders who are involved in any type of counselling. It's a very practical book that isn't too technical that would overwhelm a person interested in learning more about this area.
