These speakers are fantastic. Great frequency response . With the size of these speakers they are very discreet on the wall at head height. They blend in with the White wall covering and the metal front mesh is discreet as well. A must for a home cinema . No more unsightly tall floor standing speakers around the room now. These are the front pr of speakers. My other order is for 2 pr of pdic80 round ceiling speakers for the surround and rear surround. For the low price and high quality you have everything to meet your needs in this set up. I use a Yamaha surround sound amplifier with these.

I bought 3 pairs for a new build. The first lug broke when installing, because the plastic is brittle and the unit is built on a budget. I hot-melted it back together and started all screws off to centre the clamp in it's socket (but still just loose enough to swing behind the cut-out) before re-fitting (easier to understand if you see it). Don't over-tighten the screws and make sure the clamps don't jam at the start of their socket or the casing will break. No problems with the second one, only after breaking the first one. Anyway, the 1st pair is now fitted and they sound a bit better than I was expecting for the price (and in the ceiling). The sticky stuff for the grilles is a bit awkward to know where exactly to position (mine fell off a couple of times), but I squished it into the groove and it's holding on OK now. I'd buy them again, but just be careful when fitting them.

Great value for 8 inch speakers. This isn't sound quality but the price doesn't reflect that. The 8 inch woofer gives the full sound some punch as its in an enclosed cabinet. Would absolutely recommend

I have not installed these in the walls yet mainly since I am still building them. After reading some of the other reviews about a few modifications I can see how it would be valuable to both take your time and reinforce the screws a little bit. It does indeed look like recycled plastics in the construction, probably good from a re-use stand point and cheaper, these were inexpensive, and extra care when installing them is great forewarning. When I put them in I am going to leave extra time to go slow and remember that firm is likely tight enough with the simple and thin tabs they have for attaching to the drywall. As for sound I have been using them, set up for music as I am finishing the basement and they have been working really well so far. Good sound, can turn them up enough to hear even with ear protection on. They seem to sound like I'd expect for speakers that cost more. Update: I have installed these in the wall and the ceiling and had success with both. The biggest thing I would suggest is that you take a little bit of time to set each of the 6 grippers, by that I mean run the screws through each one about 3/4 of an inch. They are newly molded plastic and though there is a hole in them, you will want to get the threads run through them once. When you are backing them up they will slip over the top allowing them to be turned out of the way. Make sure that they are still a bit tight and don't let them slide all the way back out as they won't re-seat every time, especially when you don't see them in the drywall hole. Even tight they will turn easily out of the way when you go to set them in the wall but won't be likely to break on their way down, though make sure to use a hand screwdriver as you don't want to over tighten any of them. They still sound really good and for the price even with a little bit of pre-work on them I'd buy another set when or if I need something like this in the future.
