Q: Should I microwave with the lid on or off? Is both acceptable? I suppose if its permitted to microwave with the lid on, you have to leave vent open.

I am very pleased with mug I purchased. I have put it in the microwave several times with no issues. I always put it in with the lid on and the vent open. I have not tried heating anything with tomatoes-in any form, due to past experience with the Tupperware travel soup mug. the siel is not tight

It leaks water if shaken when you put hot water inside and close the lid, not practical if you are on the move.
