Nice, large wine glass but really thin stems
These are nice crystal wine glasses. A bit large but not really an issue. However, the stems are very thin. They are difficult to hold for me. Fine for my wife who has smaller hands.

It's wonderful to find something perfectly fitted to its function.
My father enjoyed no luxuries in life due to our humble station, but he recognized that there are ways to drastically enhance even the most simple things. He always appreciated his glass of inexpensive wine with our evening meal, and insisted that the glass employed, infinitely influenced the ceremonial enjoyment. It seemed silly at the time, but now I've come to appreciate that same simple reality, and so am very critical in choosing glassware to enjoy my evening glass with my meal or just to unwind after work. I experimented with stemless glassware for the utility and lessened chance of tragic spillage while making sweeping gestures in animated conversations. Practical, yes, but soul-less. I'm always buying new sets until I've depleted them to a lone survivor from careless accidents. I was down to my lone cab glass when I ordered these to see what they conveyed. They arrived yesterday, and I don't think I ever received anything quite so protected! They arrived in a box so big I was certain they were delivering some ornamental urn by mistake. Inside the huge armored box was layers of bubble wrap and another box. Inside that box was another that contained cardboard cutouts to keep these glasses completely isolated and safe. I was impressed and intrigued. Finally I removed one glass and inspected it. It's a large glass at 9 1/2 inches tall but subdued. It's incredibly light due to the thinness of the glass itself. Lightly ping it and it sings. The stem is thin but substantial enough and the base is unexpectedly broad and substantial to give it a confident footing. The bowl of the glass is deep at over 5 inches but tapers to a surprisingly small opening at the top. The result is that it feels very light and delicate in your hand. Before you take a sip, your nose naturally extends into the glass by design to take in the bouquet as it should be. The wall thinness has an elegant mouth feel. I know I am sounding affected and dramatic, but these are likely the most ideally formed wine glasses I have ever owned, and I've gone through countless over decades. I'm actually storing them in the box they came in with just two out for use to guard against any accidents. They are substantial but somewhat fragile if handled roughly. Forget about putting these in a dishwasher, it would be a crime. It's inevitable that in time these will succumb to accidents and clumsiness. But when that happens, I will return to order a new set. These might be the perfect red wine glasses in form, feel and function. Or maybe its the wine talking. I know my dad would approve..

Oneida's Sad Story but Uplifted [sic] Product
Maybe my taste buds are failing, but I don't see why a wine glass would favor red or white. Yes, I saw the explanation -- and maybe you need a test lab in order to tell the difference, but these wine glasses were great for red, too. That said, I am a fan of Oneida glassware. We own quite a lot of the parent company's flatware and glassware, especially since the planetary plastic crisis surfaced. The oneida.com "our story" page was broken when visited, but research shows the firm has been through difficult times, moving through bankruptcies and hedge funds in a depressing cycle through several decades. Nothing is made at its original namesake's NY state location. If you can look past all that to a good product, and you won't break this glassware due to inebriation (considering the per-glass price point), these are highly recommended.

overall a great wine glasses
I was really impressed with the packaging because they actually managed to give a much needed fitted packaging but just using the cardboards. I recently also purchased Mikasa Champagne Flute glasses but one of them was broken when I got it because it was moving and shifting inside the box due to poor, non-fitted packaging. These guys knew exactly how to package these 4 wine glasses using just the cardboards and it was protected safely. The wine glasses are very pretty. I love the wide bottom base but I wish the opening was a bit wider because it's hard to clean the inside of the glasses after using them. Also, compared to my previous wine glasses that I purchased from Costco, the glass is not as thick including the stems. I feel like it will easily break due to thinner glasses.I still think it's overall a great wine glasses and it will serve just fine as long as you don't drop or bang into something. 4 out of 5 stars!Hope this was useful... and if it was, please click on the helpful button below. Thank you!

Perfect for my needs!
I like the design of these glasses very much. They are quite obviously meant to enhance the enjoyment of the wine poured into them. First, the bowl doesn't narrow before a glass, as defined by volume, has been poured into them, then narrows quite considerably to capture the bouquet for the nose which must inevitably be inserted into the glass. There is plenty of room to swirl your wine without coming to grief. The stem is thick enough for utility, and long and graceful enough to please the senses. The base has a pleasant weight, and enough width to lend itself well to holding the glass there, rather than by the stem, and to swirl your wine. The balance is perfect. As I only have wine on rare occasions, I like to really enjoy that single glass when I do, and these glasses certainly enhance the pleasure. The materials and workmanship is impeccable.Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Thin and well-made glass for all occasions
These aren't my first Oneida products, and the quality continues to impress me. First, these Oneida crystal wine glasses are a great addition to any household. The extremely thin and delicate crystal glass makes them quite light, even with the large footprint. The sheer rim is a delight to drink from and, while the stem is very slim, it feels strong enough to not cause any issues.I am no wine expert, and I will not claim to be able to speak to how well these wine glasses “open up” powerful wines, but I have found these glasses to be just what the doctor ordered, even if during the pandemic I feel like I should be drinking out of a big gulp cup.
